Review! The Sweet, Spicy, and Sparkling Tastes of Morocco at EPCOT'S Food and Wine Festival

We’ve been eating our way around the World Showcase at EPCOT’S International Food and Wine Festival!

We finally made it to the Morocco Pavilion which featured one of our FAVORITE dishes of the day, if not the entire festival. Keep reading…we’ll fill you in!

Looking over the menu, we noticed that Morocco seemed to have a pretty decent set of offerings!

We ordered the Beef Kefta Pocket and oh. my. GOODNESS. You guys, this was a star dish for us today.

This dish was jam-packed with flavor, a little heat, and TONS of spices. Of all the items we’ve tried at this year’s festival, this item was by FAR one of the most flavorful.

The beef was wrapped in a pita and balanced with caramelized onions, garlic then topped with spicy tomato concassée. The dish costs $9.00 and is WELL WORTH IT, my friends.

The Spicy Hummus Fries are back this year, rivaling Mr. Kamal’s seasoned fries in Animal Kingdom. There’s always a need for some friendly competition!

The fries cost $8.00 and are topped with fresh cucumber, tomatoes, onions, tzatziki, and chipotle sauce. We liked the little kick of chipotle at the end! These are reliably a good choice every time we’ve tried them at the festival.

“Say what you wish, it’s yours! True dish. How ’bout a little more baklavaaaa?” (Sorry, we couldn’t resist!) The sticky-sweet Chocolate Baklava, returning once again to the festival, is made of rolled phyllo dough, toasted almonds, and drizzled in dark chocolate sauce. The dessert costs $4.50.

You can usually find good baklava at the Morrocco Pavilion year-round, so we suggest trying another dessert if you’ve visited before! Otherwise, this is a solid dessert.

Morocco has four beverage choices at this year’s festival. There’s the Mediterranean Beer (available in a 6oz pour for $4.50 and a 12oz pour for $9.00), the Kasbah Prestige Red Wine ($6.00), Red Organic Sangria ($7.00), and The Mimosa Royale ($9.00). There’s certainly something on their drink menu for everyone!

Overall, Morocco had a few good dishes and decent drink selections. Spicy food lovers will love the Hummus Fries, we could easily fill up on a few of those awesome Beef Kefta Pockets, and it’s a solid choice for a mimosa!
