Disney just announced that Disney Springs in Walt Disney World Resort will begin a phased reopening on May 20th. (You can read more details here.)
Along with the announcement, updates have been made to the Walt Disney World website regarding the reopening of the Resort. At this time, a phased reopening has only been announced for Disney Springs — the rest of the Resort remains closed until further notice. However, the updated language includes potential information for the theme parks, Resort hotels, and areas beyond.
The language states: “Upon reopening, theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, restaurants, attractions, experiences, and other offerings may be modified and will be limited in capacity and subject to limited availability or closure, based on direction from health experts and government officials to promote physical distancing.”
It goes on to share that attractions, experiences, services, and amenities may have limited availability or that they may remain closed.
Much of the language on the page remains unchanged (save for the section regarding Disney Springs reflecting today’s phased reopening announcement). An additional note states that “Our focus remains on the health and safety of the entire Disney community,” specifically mentioning the well-being of the Cast Members who are caring for the Resort and keeping it secure during the closure.
We will continue to keep you posted on these and other changes to the information provided regarding Walt Disney World as this story develops.
