Disney World and the NFL lost a key figure today as legendary coach Don Shula passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 90.

Shula coached 33 seasons of the NFL and had a record-breaking 347 victories accredited to his name. One of his most notable accomplishments was his leadership of the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
In 1972, the Miami Dolphins finished their NFL season with a perfect 17-0 record; the only team to be undefeated and untied in the league’s history. Although 1973 wasn’t quite as “perfect” as the previous year, it was certainly good enough, as the Miami Dolphins went on to win the Super Bowl again.
Shula retired from the NFL in 1995, after opening Shula’s Steak House at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resort back in 1989 where it has since become an institution of fine dining at Disney World. As you can see, Shula’s Steak House’s menu is printed on a football in homage to his lengthy and successful NFL career and love of the game.

Shula’s Steak House is also known for its generous portions which even include a 48-ounce Porterhouse. If you can finish it, your name will be placed on a plaque. Even though the menu primarily features several cuts of steak, seafood delicacies including lobster tails and crab cakes are also a Shula’s staple.
