Whether you are a parent, a teacher, a newly formed hybrid of parent-teacher (the struggle is real, guys), or you are simply looking for ways to keep you and your young learners engaged, there’s certainly no shortage of unique challenges these days of needing to adjust to learning at home.
Luckily, Disney has several interactive and engaging learning tools that can be accessed online, and many are completely FREE of charge!
Imagineering in a Box
Ever wonder what it takes to work at Walt Disney Imagineering? The FREE online curriculum titled Imagineering in a Box is a great tool to explore the subject areas of math, physics, engineering, and conceptual design! Older elementary and middle school-aged learners through high school (and even beyond!) will enjoy this interactive course that comes with over 30 videos as well as hands-on learning tools that explore the various skill sets needed to become an Imagineer!
Take it from us, this is a WHOLE lot of fun AND educational. Each course has additional projects for you or your kids to work out together, like coming up with your own themed land. Our kids are having a blast going through these!

Pixar in a Box
Khan Academy, the same company that produced Imagineering in a Box, also released Pixar in a Box for all those aspiring artists, storytellers, and computer scientists! This course explores the ins and outs of working at Pixar, from the marriage of math and artistry to building a cohesive story. Best of all, this course is also completely FREE!
If your kiddo has aspirations of becoming an animator, lighter, surfacing artist, modeler, and more (or wants to know what any of these professions even are! 😉 ) this is a great, engaging way to learn the ins and outs of the animation industry.

Learning and Activity Sheets
Looking for something that perhaps takes up a little less time than a full online curriculum? Disney, Pixar, and National Geographic have come up with printable activity sheets to keep young learners engaged. The sheets include crafts and reading guides to accompany your kiddo’s favorite books.
If you’re at home with a younger aged kid, perhaps not in school yet, and been struggling to find activities to hold their attention, stop what you’re doing now and look at this. Seriously, we’re printing off more activity sheets right now!

National Geographic on Disney+
There’s so much content on Disney+, we often forget that there’s programming that could totally fit an educational setting! National Geographic has content ranging from The World According to Jeff Goldblum, to various films and documentaries covering animals, the Earth, science, and more!
These could be great supplemental material for older students, particularly middle school and high school.
Our kids have LOVED watching through the DisneyNature films as well, so if you need a break from hardcore teaching, let Disney+ help while you get a break!
Looking for the ultimate Disney+ watch list? Check out this list for some “after school” watch party ideas!
We hope these give you a good place to start when looking for educational opportunities for your students at home! Hang in there, moms and dads!
