Review! We’re Gettin’ Jiggy With This Returning St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake in Disneyland Resort!

Disneyland’s Grand Californian Hotel has really been knocking it out of the park lately!

Not only can you score the new Craftsman Bar and Grill Souvenir Mug (which totally reminds us so much of this fine dining establishment!) but now it’s also the home of a returning treat!

In fact, Craftsman Bar and Grill are no strangers when it comes to celebrating St Patrick’s Day! Last year, they were serving a lucky St. Paddy’s Day Cupcake which featured a GREEN colored cake and topped with marshmallow fluff! We ventured back to the Craftsman Grill today to see if this seasonal treat had returned… and we were in LUCK because it had!

But even though the St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake has decided to make a comeback, (and looks very similar to the 2019 version), this year it’s VERY different!

You’ll notice to sugar decorations including the lucky horseshoe and jaunty little hat are the same, along with the two chocolate coins that comprise Mickey’s ears!

But this year the St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake is a vanilla cupcake (which is NOT dyed green this year — which we happen to prefer!) along with a lemon-flavored frosting (which replaced the marshmallow fluff from last year)!

What’s even more shocking is when we cut into the new St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake, we revealed its secret surprise — a POT ‘O GOLD! Or maybe we should say a pot ‘o green? We asked a Cast Member why there were little grayish-green pebbles inside and were told they were supposed to resemble gold.

They DID have a slight golden shimmer thanks to some edible glitter, but it seemed like a stretch to say we’d struck it rich! The “gold” also had a light lemony taste and the flavors of the St. Patrick’s Day Cupcake blended together quite well. All in all, we think it’s a tasty, enjoyable treat to celebrate St. Paddy’s Day with!
