We’ve been having a blast at Disney California Adventure today!
And while it’s only the first day of the 2020 Food and Wine Festival, we’re already gotten to try so many new foods (like garlic mac and cheese and a caramel peanut macaron). But since we left our melon ballers at home and we’re suddenly finding ourselves struck by a hankering for some refreshing fruit, it’s time to hit up One in a Melon — the festival’s brand new booth!
That’s right, foodies — 2020 marks One in a Melon’s big Food and Wine festival debut! Let’s see if she’s a keeper, shall we?
Food
One in a Melon is serving up fresh and brightly colored melony eats at this year’s fest.
Let’s take a look at all these fresh and fruity options…
First up, we tried the Compressed Watermelon and Tomato with Whipped Ricotta and Lemon Olive Oil for $7.
We didn’t expect much but we actually enjoyed this one. This light bite was super fresh and packed some flavor.
Next, we sampled the new Poke-style Watermelon with Cucumber for $6.75. This dish is also a plant-based and gluten-friendly option.
The flavors here were just not working together for us. We appreciate the creativity but we just did NOT love this one.
For dessert, we grabbed the Pabana Cream Puff with Mango, Passion Fruit and Banana Mousse for $5.50.
Stop what you’re doing right now and GET THIS! IT WAS SO GOOD. There’s lots of tropical flavor going on here and the textures were WOAH. Perfection. A definite Best of the Fest here!
Beverages
For tasty sips, One in a Melon is serving up a delicious Berry Mule for $14!
If you like ginger, you’ll enjoy this yummy and refreshing festival beverage. There wasn’t TOO much melon flavor going on so just imagine a classic mule with a little bit of a fruity twist.
You’ll also find a non-alcoholic House-made Watermelon Agua Fresca for $6.
We were expecting something fun with a little tang, but sadly it was very bland.
One in a Melon’s food is definitely on the healthier and lighter end of the spectrum of eats you can enjoy at the 2020 Food and Wine Festival, but we think it’s also bringing a ton of flavor and freshness to this year’s line-up! Check it out for yourself at this year’s fest which runs through April 21st, 2020!
