It’s a new lunar year and all our friends are here! We couldn’t be feeling more fortunate!
This global holiday is celebrated the world over and Disney’s California Adventure has its own Lunar New Year party goin’ on right here! Like most Disney festivals, this one has its fair share of specialty eats and treats, so next on our list is Prosperity Bao & Bun!
We’ve already a little full from sampling the festival food at Lucky 8 Lantern and Red Dragon Spice Traders, but you know there’s always some room left for Prosperity Bao & Buns! They’ve had some of our festival faves in years past so, needless to say, we’re excited to DIG IN!
Food
Interestingly enough, ALL of the food items are returning from the previous years Prosperity’s offerings. We’re not complaining though — we LOVE this stuff! The main event is the Char Siu Pork Bao for $7.75 made with Chinese BBQ Pork, Pickled Red Onions, and Jalapenos. Warning: This dish has some kick!
Also returning is the Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun which just might be the most FUN of all the festival eats! We think this is a super silly ear; It reminds us of a big ol’ bagel dog! Chow down for $7.
Now for the best course (IMHO anyway), it’s dessert! This booth has a flaky and sweet Mango-Pineapple Pastry which is layers of flaky pastry filled with pineapple jelly and diced mango. Um… YUM!
Drinks
Now, even though all of the food items are returning from last year, there’s an ALL-NEW cocktail at this booth! Needless to say, we’re PUMPED to try out the Lychee-Grapefruit Gin Spritzer for $13 made with gin, pure lychee fruit syrup, simple grapefruit, and soda water.
This drink packs a strong grapefruit flavor! If you’re not a fan of the fruit, forgo the Lychee-Grapefruit Gin Spritzer — it’s not shy!! Otherwise, it’s a tasty, refreshing drink garnished with a nice slice ‘o grapefruit!
There’s a new beer available here too! It’s called the Kloud Original Gravity Lager and it’s all the way from Korea. Try it for $10!
Overall
We can’t seem to resist the bounty of delightful foods the Prosperity Bao & Buns is servin’ up year after year! We don’t know what we’d snack on if the Mickey Chinese Hot Dog Bun went it away, for it IS LIFE!
