REVIEW: You Had Us At Ginger Slaw! There’s a New Dog In Town in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

We’re spending a lot of time over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom because they are offering yummy new bites and we’ve got a ROARING appetite.

We’re reviewing ALL the new eats on this year’s Animal Kingdom Tasting Sampler and we’re having a BLAST! You’ve joined us just in time for a brand new Ginger Slaw DAWG!

OK, in case you’ve missed us talking about the tasting sampler, here are the details! Animal Kingdom’s Tasting Sampler comes around a couple of times a year (usually when it’s BUSIEST in the park), and costs $50.00. This will get you two digital value cards: One $50 card that can be used at over 40 outdoor food and beverage locations throughout the park (NO expiration, though), and a bonus $10.00 that can be used at the following quick-service restaurants after 4:00 PM from December 22, 2019 through January 4, 2020: Restaurantosaurus, Pizzafari, Flame Tree Barbecue, and Satu’li Canteen.

Now, you don’t HAVE to buy the tasting sampler to get the goodies — you can buy all of these a la carte as well!

This time we’re trekking to Caravan Road in Asia where they have two new offerings this year, including the Ginger Slaw Dog.

The Ginger Slaw Dog is priced at $6.29 or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. (That’s a GREAT value for the credit, financially; but the dog itself is…kind puny.)

A mini-sausage is topped with Pickled Ginger Slaw and tucked inside of a pillowy soft roll.

This was delicious! The sausage has a perfect texture while the slaw added the right level of crisp. Everything just worked in beautiful harmony!

So while the dish flavors worked well, we would probably recommend going with the Char Siu Pork if you’re only getting one thing at this location. Better value for your $$$.
