It’s been just a few weeks since Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort opened its elegant doors to welcome guests, and we’re still thinking about the grand Barcelona Lounge, Toledo — Tapas, Steak, & Seafood‘s rooftop views, and those lovely rooms and suites.
And we know many of you have been wondering about some of the other amenities and locations at Gran Destino Tower, like the building’s state-of-the-art fitness center, conference spaces, and connections to other areas of the Resort.
So we’re back with everything else you need to know about Gran Destino Tower, including four special secrets we’re excited to share!
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Is Now The Only Disney Hotel With Two Fitness Centers
Coronado Springs Resort was the only Moderate Resort at Walt Disney World with a fitness center, and now, it’s got two! The original is called La Vida Health Club, and it’s located near the Casitas Village Pool across Lago Dorado from Gran Destino Tower. Gran Destino’s Fitness Center is located inside the tower on the lower level..and it’s FANCY SCHMANCY.
The Fitness Center is accessible 24 hours a day for guests staying at Coronado Springs Resort — even if they’re not staying in the Tower itself.
Offerings in the gym include plenty of towels. (Peep that gorgeous Spanish-inspired tile on the wall behind this display!)
Ice cold water and fruit are available, too.
And if you forgot your earbuds in your room? They’ve got you covered!
The equipment itself is TechnoGym, and this Fitness Center is the first at Walt Disney World to use it.
Part of the TechnoGym approach is engaging exercises right on the screens of the cardio machines. No personal trainer needed — just select a program and get your sweat on!
Cardio machines include treadmills and ellipticals.
There are also a good amount of weights available for those of us who like free-weights.
Additional equipment includes medicine balls and kettle bells.
The Fitness Center also has a dedicated restroom…
…and a shower.
So there’s no excuse anymore not to hit the gym on your vacation! (J/K LOL — we’ll never judge!)
Gran Destino Tower Has A SHOW KITCHEN!
Coronado Springs is designed to act as a conference center for companies looking to gather at Walt Disney World, and Gran Destino Tower has a number of convention offerings. The Catalonia Boardroom is a 24-seat room with a stationary (and massive!) table, multiple screens for presentations, and tons of space to spread out.
Large windows let in tons of natural light so even if you’re stuck inside for most of the day, you won’t be entirely separate from the Great Outdoors.
Groups that reserve this space will work with cast members to determine their individual needs, but a set-up might include simple table settings, bottled water, and candy (in Mickey-shaped bowls).
The Lantana Room is a flexible space large enough to be divided into three separate spaces. Seating is flexible, allowing for a lot of customization.
The design here is stylish and understated, with neutrals and pops of color.
In addition to the options for couch and armchair seating, high-top tables and bar-height seating is available.
And there’s an option for seating dining table spaces, making Lantana Room a great flex space for a variety of needs.
Disney Meetings & Events handle all the arrangements for corporate, association, and social events.
Lantana Room also has a pre-function space for lounging and relaxing. But that’s not all…
There’s also a show kitchen built into this space! We’d love to see all the ways this space is used for conventions here!
Other possible options for meetings include drink and snack coolers.
Gran Destino Tower also has an outdoor meeting space, which would be a lovely spot for spring, fall, and winter gatherings!
Gran Destino Tower Has Its Own Exclusive Bus Stop
When Gran Destino Tower opened, not only did its lobby become the check-in location for the entire Resort, its bus stop also replaced the old El Centro bus stop.
Upon exiting the port cochere side of the Tower, guests can go right for Park transportation and left for Disney’s Magical Express.
Either direction, the walkway is covered but open-air, so there’s little protection from the elements.
Looking back from the Magical Express bus pick-up area, you can see the Tower and the port cochere.
The Park transportation side of the bus stop has screens with bus wait times and some ceiling fans.
This is a standard bus stop; nothing fancy or new here aside from the structure itself.
Back under the port cochere, guests can find signs directing them to Resort Airline Check-In.
This space is just to the left as you exit the Tower on the port cochere side.
Information about airlines and timing is displayed inside the check-in space.
The Airline Check-In space is utilitarian but convenient.
Gran Destino Tower Has a HIDDEN PASSAGEWAY
As for accessing the other Resort dining and amenities, Gran Destino is located a short walking distance from Coronado Springs dining like Pepper Market and Cafe Rix as well as Panchito’s Gifts and Sundries.
And the best part about that close proximity is that there’s an interior hall that connects Gran Destino to El Centro! So if the dining options in Gran Destino Tower don’t appeal to you (or you’re staying with kids who need some chicken nuggets!), you’re just a short, covered walk away!
NEW Bridges and Walkways Were Created To Join Gran Destino To The Main Pool
Finally, Gran Destino Tower doesn’t have a dedicated pool, but it’s a short walking distance away from two. The Lost City of Cibola is Coronado’s main pool, and it’s located just across Lago Dorado from Gran Destino Tower
And for a quieter pool experience (that’s potentially even closer than Cibola), the Cabanas Village Pool is just to the right of the Tower when you exit toward Lago Dorado.
And with that, you’re prepared to explore a few hidden secrets of Gran Destino Tower and its surrounding area within the Coronado Springs Resort!
