D23 Expo 2019

is finally happening THIS WEEKEND!

We’re so excited to learn about all the new things coming to the parks and can’t wait to see what Disney has in store for us!

We’ve been chatting a lot about everything we can expect at D23 Expo 2019. Disney is adding new Legends, Lucasfilm is hosting its very first panel, there will be exclusive previews of Frozen 2, and a ton of fun merchandise.

Sadly, the Expo has officially sold out. But don’t fret! You can still be part of the magic from the comfort of your living room as D23 will be livestreaming a few of the panels!

The 2019 Disney Legends Ceremony will be hosted by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger and will once again honor visionaries and artists who have made significant contributions to the Disney legacy.” This year’s recipients include Wing Chao, Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, Bette Midler, Kenny Ortega, Barnette Ricci, Robin Roberts, Diane Sawyer, Ming-Na Wen, Hans Zimmer, and Christina Aguilera.

Behind the Art of Disney Costuming — “Walt Disney Archives Presents Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume.” This will feature 70 costumes spanning 55 years of Disney movies and television.

Women of Impact: Meet the Nat Geo Explorers Changing the World will give you the opportunity to hear stories from Erika Bergman, a submersible pilot, Lilley Sedaghat, the ambassador for Planet or Plastic, and Dr. Rew Wynn-Grant, a large-carnivore expert.

Marvel Comics: Marvel’s 80th Anniversary — expect to see Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort as they take fans through the history of Marvel Comics.

Heroines of the Disney Galaxies Presented by BoxLunch is a panel where Ashley Eckstein, Sana Amanat, Ally Maki, and Christy Carlson Romano will also take to the stage “for a celebration of some of the most inspiring and empowered heroines” from Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm.

The Art of Disney Storytelling will feature Disney Legends Tony Baxter and Floyd Norman along with Paul Briggs (the head of story for Big Hero 6 and Frozen) and producer Don Hahn as they chat about Walt Disney’s impact on their careers!
