Hello, again friends! We’re back today with some more 2019 D23 Expo information!

We have already shared that Lucasfilm will be making an appearance for the first time and that attendees will be able to see never before seen footage from films like Frozen 2. But now, we have even more news to share!
According to D23, National Geographic will be making an appearance at the D23 Expo for the very first time. From furry friends to explorers, this Expo may be unlike any other we’ve experienced!

So, let’s check out the National Geographic events that will take place throughout the weekend.
2019 D23 Expo Events
On August 23rd from 1-2 PM, Legendary rock climber Alex Honnold will share details on his experience from his 3,200-foot climb without a rope at El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. (For those who watched Free Solo, this climb is the basis for the film!) During the event, he will also be signing copies of his book!

Head over to Stage 28 on August 24th from 10-11 AM for WOMEN OF IMPACT: Meet the Nat Geo Explorers Changing the World. Here you’ll hear stories from Erika Bergman, a submersible pilot, Lilley Sedaghat, the ambassador for Planet or Plastic, and Dr. Rew Wynn-Grant, a large-carnivore expert.

You’ll be able to see a few four-legged friends on August 24th from 3-4 PM as you meet Dr. Jan Pol from National Geographic’s series, The Incredible Dr. Pol.

Sue Aikens from the Emmy Award-winning series Life Below Zero will share details about her life in the remote corners of our northern-most state. She will also be signing autographs and taking photos. This will take place on August 25th from 11 AM – 12 PM.

Also on August 25th, attendees will be able to get a first look at the reboot of Brain Games. This session will be filled with fun games and challenges that are sure to test your brain. Keegan-Michael Key and Lior Suchard will host, which will likely make for a fun and memorable experience. This event will take place in the D23 Expo Arena from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM.
