Just a few days ago we were paying our first visit and eating our way through the menu at the new Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes in the Downtown Disney District of Disneyland Resort.
While the experience was a great one overall, Black Tap’s signature CrazyShakes were an absolute highlight. That’s why we’re so excited to let you know that an all-new CrazyShake has taken a spot on the Black Tap menu (both here in Downtown Disney and at Black Tap locations worldwide) starting today! Are you ready for this? It’s the Churro Choco Taco CrazyShake.
Though all of the over-the-top CrazyShakes are huge, this thing is MASSIVE…like Beaches and Cream Kitchen Sink huge (well, almost 😉 )!
Several components are coming together here, so let’s go through the building steps together. The base is a Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shake served in a caramel coated glass. The rim is vanilla frosted with Cinnamon Toast Crunch pressed into it…every sweet lover’s dream!
Then, Black Tap adds not one…but TWO Churros AND AN ENTIRE Choco Taco ice cream sandwich to the top off the shake’s base! Loads of whipped cream and caramel sauce drizzled across the top almost complete the shake… but then they sprinkle it all with even MORE Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Now for our review! The Churro Choco Taco CrazyShake is so big you literally have to strategize, so we started with those two churros first. Up next? The Choco Taco Ice Cream Sandwich! Finally, we enjoyed the creamy shake — which is wonderfully complimented by all the components — while spooning the Cinnamon Toast Crunch with each sip… it’s like some sort of magical ice cream cereal!
We really enjoyed the flavors of the shake overall, but heads up: it was a tough job to finish since it’s so big. But, we ultimately CONQUERED the Churro Choco Taco CrazyShake …and we were the first to do so at this location!
Even though the Downtown Disney location features a Shake Window for to-go orders, the Churro Choco Taco CrazyShake is available as a Dine-In ONLY… but expect lines and a bit of a wait if you plan on visiting soon because the crowds have been INSANE! (Hint: it’s worth the wait.)
The Churro Taco Choco CrazyShake is $15, and Annual Passholders may use their discount to dine here. If you’re going crazy over this new shake, you may want to check out all the other CrazyShakes we reviewed during our first visit!
