HOORAY!!! Loaded Mickey-Shaped Waffles are BACK ON THE MENU at Roaring Fork in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge…

… though not exactly in the way you might think. You see, Specialty Mickey Waffles were a signature breakfast item for ages at the Roaring Fork.

Guests could choose from three different offerings: Strawberry Waffles, Chocolate Lovers Waffles, and (my personal favorite) Bananas Foster Waffles.

However, when Roaring Fork reopened from a lengthy refurbishment last June, the menus had been revamped along with the space, and the Specialty Waffles did not return. But that has — thankfully! —changed!

You’ll now see Loaded Mickey-Shaped Waffles on the breakfast menu (which is served from 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM, with Grab and Go options available starting at 6:00 AM). HOWEVER… you’ll want to take note of a change to the menu description, which reads…

“Mickey-shaped Waffles with Strawberry Sauce, Chocolate-Chips, Banana Foster Sauce, Caramel Sauce, Chocolate Syrup and Whipped Cream.” So, guess what that means? It means you get ALL! THE! TOPPINGS!!!

Frankly, of all the versions we tried this morning (because you’re about to see more 🙂 ), the Loaded–With-Everything was the favorite — much to our surprise! All of the toppings together just as is on the menu tasted great! But if that seems a little much for your liking, fret not…

If you’ve been craving, say, the Strawberry Waffles from back in the day, you can just order the strawberry toppings and whipped cream, even though they aren’t listed individually on the menu. Like so!

You’ll notice that the Cast Members were kind enough to put the toppings on the side in this case, so you can request the same if you’d like. We even requested some chocolate sauce to go with the above dish for this final result (and, by the way, it was nice to have some control over the chocolate because we found it to be a dominant flavor)..
