It’s Halloween Time at Disneyland Park, and even the extraterrestrials at Alien Pizza Planet are celebrating! (And, yup: Alien Pizza Planet is still a thing, hanging on even after the end of Pixar Fest!) So how do the Aliens get their ghouls on?
With Cosmic Chili Pasta! (What? Pasta isn’t the first thing you think of for Halloween? Well, we’ll just have to go with it because Aliens.) (Also: carbs.)
Our Disneyland correspondent Heather (hi, @DiningInDisney!!) headed over to give this a try, and she reports it’s delicious! So evidently these little green men know their way around a kitchen!
Cosmic Chili Pasta consists of pinwheel pasta, chili, jalapeno cheese sauce, and corn chips (Fritos!). It’s a thing of beauty to look at, and the flavors go really well together. Fritos and chili are sort of brothers from another mother, anyway, so it can’t hurt to put them on top of some fun pasta!
The Fritos (sorry — corn chips) were fresh and crunchy, giving the dish some great texture and sound! Notice there are some chopped green onion sprinkled about, too. That adds a nice hit of freshness to the otherwise hyper-savory plate.
The placard says the pasta is chef’s choice, but we’re sure glad the chef chose pinwheels! The pasta held its shape (no mushy noodles here!) and was a great vehicle for the jalapeno cheese sauce!
This rich, flavorful chili is beef and bean and gives the pasta dish a lot of weight. Meaning this is a seriously filling plate of food that’s definitely share-able!
Heather also ordered some Garlon Bread. This is a garlic breadstick served with zesty tomato dipping sauce.
But since Heather is a rockstar, she also got a cup of the jalapeno cheese sauce. This is why we’re friends.
The breadstick is standard theme park fare. It’s not particularly inspired, but it’ll fill the void if you’re hungry.
The sauces are both yummy, though! And they’re the real reason you’re eating a breadstick anyway, right? As a vehicle for sauces. (No? Just us?)
Verdict: get the jalapeno cheese sauce, then go to town mixing and matching the sauces!
This dish is a winner!
