Even if it’s not exactly the right moment to start the Big Countdown to ring in 2018, it IS — believe it or not — time to start making your plans for New Year’s Eve in Walt Disney World!
And Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be hosting THREE celebrations, which will all open for booking on July 11th.
Disney Countdown to Midnight
Dining, dancing, music, and booze will all be components of Disney Countdown to Midnight in the Fantasia Ballroom. A band, DJ, and Mickey and Minnie will all join in the party, and guests will ring in 2018 viewing the Magic Kingdom New Year’s Fireworks and raising a glass of bubbly.
This event is created for guests 18 and older, and runs from 8 pm to 1 am. The cost is $250 per guest (tax and gratuity included). Visit the Disney World event page to learn more.
Pixar Party: A New Year’s Eve Celebration
The Ballroom of the Americas will play host to Pixar Party: A New Year’s Celebration! Families and kids at heart will be welcomed by Sarge himself and the scene will be set with vignettes such as Andy’s Room from Toy Story and Metro City from The Incredibles. Character appearances will include familiar faces from Cars, Up, Toy Story, and The Incredibles.
Pixar face painting, balloon art and Boot Camp with Sarge will provide entertainment especially for the kiddos, while a DJ will play Radio Disney hits.
A buffet dinner will be served to all, and everyone can head outside as the clock strikes Twelve to see the Magic Kingdom Fireworks. The party runs from 8 pm – 12:15 am. The price is $175 per guest, both child and adult (tax and gratuity included). Visit the Disney World webpage to learn more.
Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Dining Experience
The Grand Ballroom will be transformed into the French Quarter for Down in New Orleans: A Disney New Year’s Eve Dining Experience. Both the atmosphere and the live music will be inspired by The Princess and the Frog.
Dinner will be served via Action Stations featuring items like Oyster Beignets, Smoked Salmon Mousse Cones with caviar, Kobe Beef Tartare and Sheep’s Milk Ricotta Gnocchi. Herb-crusted Louisiana Redfish, Crayfish Etouffee, Black Angus Beef cooked two ways, Braised Short Ribs, and Filet of Beef with truffled celery root silk will be among the signature dishes. Each party will be seated at its own table for the is 200 person maximum event.
At midnight, guests can go outside — bubbly in hand — to a private viewing area to watch the Magic Kingdom New Year’s Fireworks. The celebration runs from 7:00 pm – 12:15 am. The cost is $450 per guest (tax, gratuity, and complimentary valet included), and is limited to guests 21 and older. Visit the Disney World webpage to learn more.
Again, booking for these events opens up on July 11, and can be made by calling (407) WDW-DINE or by clicking the individual event links above.
