It’s party time at Raglan Road Irish Pub.
Located at Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs), the authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant continues its year-long celebration of its 10th anniversary. But, as always, they’re also celebrating the halfway mark to St. Patrick’s Day with their 4th Annual Great Irish Hooley.
The party will take place over Labor Day Weekend, beginning at noon on Friday, September 4, and will continuing through Monday, September 7.
One of the highlights of the weekend will be a collection of craft beers that Ireland’s Rye River Brewing Company has created just for the Hooley! Guests can choose from four limited-edition brews: Raglan Road Saison, Raglan Road Fruit Salad Weiss Beer, McGargles Jims CO2 Stout, and McGargles Francis Tropical American IPA.
We’ll have a chance to taste all four at the beginning of the Hooley; be sure to stay tuned to learn more about them! They promise to pair well with Raglan Road’s menu, which features a mix of traditional and contemporary Irish dishes.
Since a Hooley is a family-friendly gathering for traditional Irish music and dance, you can also expect all manner of entertainment for the event. Many different musical acts, representing a myriad of styles, are scheduled to perform. Here’s a little rundown on each of them.
Screaming Orphans: Four sisters from Bundoran in County Donegal, Ireland, who combine original pop/rock music with the Ceili (kay-lee) traditional music of their family roots. Their dynamic show has taken the festival circuit by storm, with stops at the Great Irish Hooley between August shows at the Milwaukee Irish Fest and September appearances at the Pittsburgh Irish Festival.

The Screaming Orphans Will Perform at the 4th Annual Great Irish Hooley at Downtown Disney’s Raglan Road
JigJam: The hottest new act on the Celtgrass music scene, this County Offaly, Ireland, trio blend the best of hard-driving American Bluegrass and Irish folk music.
The West Coast Trio: This three-man band from Ireland’s west coast plays traditional and contemporary Irish songs on accordion, flute and guitar with plenty of reels and jigs.
The Blarney Stones: Three talented musicians from Ireland with a fresh take on Irish music and a new, exciting sound for our guests. Lead singer Hannah Carr may dance a step or two, as she’s a former Raglan Road Irish Dancer!
The Raglan Roots Coalition: 10 years down the road, Raglan felt it was time to shake its boogie – Roots style, with this new Irish house band. Think soul-rocking Celtic bluegrass with some hip-swingin’, knee-shakin’ funky roots beats, and you’re only halfway there.
The Blaggards: Hailing from County Clare, home of traditional Irish music, these vibrant musicians honed their skills performing on the west coast of Ireland gig scene while studying at the Irish Music Institute in the University of Limerick.
Élan: Ireland’s top new young band, Élan, create a highly exciting and vibrant sound. Winners of the prestigious “Battle of the Bands” at this year’s University College Cork Tradfest, these young maestros have been delighting audiences at Raglan Road all Summer long. Élan will take part in our informal traditional Irish music sessions outside Raglan Road.
Cooney & Ryan: One of the finest traditional Irish music duos around, these accomplished, energetic musicians often invite the crowd to sing along.
Jake Richardson: Jake is a singer-songwriter and musician from Dublin Ireland. With his unique vocals, catchy songs and passion for music – you are in for a real treat!
And of course, the Raglan Road Dancers will also take center stage all weekend long!
In addition, there will be Celtic face painting throughout the weekend. And because it’s a family-friendly event, kids of all ages are welcome to join in the fun.
