UPDATED July 4, 2025
A brand NEW theme park is NOW OPEN in Orlando, Florida as of May 22, 2025: Universal Orlando Resort’s Epic Universe! Five themed lands make up Epic Universe: Celestial Park, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Dark Universe, and the land we’re discussing here: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
The NEW Ministry of Magic is the third Harry Potter-themed land at Universal Orlando! It joins Hogsmeade (located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure) and Diagon Alley (located in Universal Studios) as a unique land adding another chapter to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The Ministry of Magic blends the 1920s wizarding world of Paris from the Fantastic Beasts movies with the first Ministry of Magic from the original Harry Potter series.
Upon passing through the Portal for the Ministry of Magic, you’ll step into 1920s Paris, directly into a Muggle park.
From here, you’ll pass through the Phoenix Arch and into WIZARDING PARIS by way of Place Cachée, which Universal shares is a “hidden, bustling shopping district in wizarding Paris lined with Haussmannian buildings, shops, sidewalk cafés, and historic Parisian domes rising in the distance.”
It’s here that wizards and “non-magiques alike” will be “enamored with the majestic grandeur and enchanting ambiance of the city as they cast dazzling spells throughout the magical streets using interactive wands, encounter fantastic beasts at a traveling circus, and – for the first time ever within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – travel across countries and time to 1990s London using the Métro-Floo for a thrilling adventure set inside the iconic British Ministry of Magic.”
This area of Epic Universe also boasts a live show, an exceptionally immersive Harry Potter attraction, several eateries from cafes to bars to a Butterbeer Cart, and, of course, plenty of spaces to shop and to practice your spell-casting skills!
Ministry of Magic Attraction
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry
Before you experience Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, you’ll travel by the Floo Network (via the the Métro-Floo) from wizarding Paris in the 1920s to the British Ministry of Magic set in the 1990s.
The reason behind your visit? You’re there to attend the trial of Dolores Umbridge.
You’ll visit a full-sized grand atrium of the Ministry and venture through various Ministry departments (and even Delores Umbridge’s former office) before “boarding magical, omnidirectional lifts” to watch the trial.
SPOILER ALERT: But Umbridge attempts to escape… and YOU will join Harry, Ron, and Hermione (and a house-elf named Higgledy) to chase her down and attempt to capture her!
You’ll be propelled up, down, forward, backward, sideways, and more on Ministry lifts through the Ministry to race to capture Umbridge.
But you’ll also need to dodge Death Eaters, monstrous creatures, and more! Settings and sights you’ll encounter in the queue and along the ride include the Magical Archives, the Department of Magical Creatures, and the iconic Time Room.
According to Universal, this is their most impressive attraction to date, “blending massive incredibly detailed environments, powerful storytelling, unprecedented ride technology and so much more to take guests on an action-packed adventure to witness the trial of the infamous Dolores Umbridge.”

This spot offers starters such as soups and salads and a variety of entrées and desserts.

What is “Bièraubeurre”?
Why, it’s the famous Wizarding beverage BUTTERBEER, of course!
You’ll find plenty of it at the Bièraubeurre Cart!
Bar Moonshine
Order up an exclusive beer, wine, or a cocktail served amid U.S. Quidditch team pennants and other items of wizarding Americana at Bar Moonshine!

For instance, you can stop by Les Galeries Mirifiques and visit a French confectionery shop, K. Rammelle.
Ministry of Magic Wands
Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique
Indeed, a beloved tradition has carried over from Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley…
You can search for a wand at Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique, the premier Parisian wand shop!
The selection features “popular imports from Ollivanders,” of course. And Cosmie Acajor also offers a whole NEW collection of interactive wands!
Guests will find that Cosmie Acajor believes that a wizard should have some say in the matter of choosing a wand (unlike Garric Ollivander, who believes the wand chooses the wizard). According to Universal, “her unique approach to wandlore and Parisian couture influence come together to create not only a fine wand, but a work of art.”
The wands here feature signature three-sided boxes which come with a list of locations throughout the land (AND Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, as well) where you can practice casting spells!
Each wand comes with an insert with information about the wand, and our wand’s says…
... “The graceful, almost whimsical sweep of this swirled vine baguette magique contrasts beautifully with its geometrically embellished, brass-coloured handle. What may seem to the untrained eye to be a paradox of design is, in fact, a brilliant nod to the remarkable vision beyond the ordinary with which such a wand’s owner is most certainly blessed. The master of a vine wand possesses hidden depths perhaps only truly understood by those of us with similar profundity.”
Epic Universe Exclusive Phoenix Wand
Universal has revealed a brand-new wand that is available exclusively at Epic Universe. It’s the Epic Universe Exclusive Phoenix Wand, and it pays tribute to the Phoenix Arch, which you can find on your way into Place Cachée.
It is a second-generation wand, so you can take advantage of the new features. Second-generation wands allow you to embark on your own wizarding journey and complete quests through the Universal Play app. The wands also feature lights and haptic effects, making the spell-casting experience even more fun.
More Ministry of Magic Shopping
You can also shop for wizarding gear and memorabilia in Les Galeries Mirifiques.
You may also satisfy your sweet tooth at the French confectionary shop, K. Rammelle, or make a stop for Ministry of Magic-inspired items at the Métro-Floo gift shop, Tour En Floo.
Where to Next?
From Ministry of Magic, guests can exit the portal to visit the other four lands: Celestial Park, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, Dark Universe, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.
