Some big news is about to come out of The Walt Disney Company, if industry experts are to be believed. Now, it’s no big secret that current CEO Bob Iger is expected to step down this year, so the biggest question all Disney fans have is, “Who will be the next CEO?”

We’ve Got A HUGE Update on Disney’s Next CEO

The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger is set to leave the company in 2026. Ahead of that, Iger’s salary increased around 12% from $41.1 million in 2024 to $45.8 million in 2025, according to Deadline.

However, one thing that many of us are thinking about is who will replace Iger as CEO of the company. Names have been tossed around, but it looks like we’ll have a name revealed soon because Disney says that it’s still on track to name Iger’s successor in early 2026.

Well, that has now been confirmed by Deadline, and Kennedy’s replacements will actually be two people, Dave Filoni and Lynwen Brennan.

NEWS: Experts Reveal Who They Think Will Be Disney’s Next CEO

Bloomberg recently polled 700 industry experts, asking them a variety of questions, including one we were particularly interested in: Who will be the CEO of Disney in 2027?

Currently, Bob Iger is the CEO of The Walt Disney Company, but all eyes are on the eventual succession to a new CEO. Back in November 2022, when Bob Chapek was ousted as CEO and replaced by Bob Iger (who had previously been the CEO), it was stated that Bob Iger would serve as CEO for just 2 years. However, in July 2023, the Board of Directors unanimously voted to extend Iger’s contract through December 31st, 2026.

Disney recently announced a new partnership with OpenAI for the company to become “the first major content licensing partner on Sora,” — OpenAI’s generative AI short-form video platform.

The three-year licensing agreement means that users will be able to utilize Sora to “generate short, user-prompted social videos that can be viewed and shared by fans.” But now that word has gotten out, it doesn’t seem like fans are too thrilled about this new partnership.

NEWS: Disney Accuses Google of “Massive” Copyright Infringement in Cease-and-Desist Letter

Yesterday, The Walt Disney Company announced an agreement with OpenAI to allow the use of Disney characters in AI content. Before the announcement, Disney sent Google a cease-and-desist letter accusing it of copyright infringement.

According to Deadline, Disney sent the cease-and-desist letter on Wednesday, just before the company announced its partnership with OpenAI. Disney accused Google of copyright infringement on a “massive scale” for using Disney’s copyrighted characters in AI-generated content.
