Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park
has opened its gates, and we’ve explored the planet of Batuu and its pock-marked village, Black Spire Outpost, to bring you the Ultimate Guide to this brand new land.
The citizens of Batuu (a/k/a cast members!) use many unfamiliar expressions when interacting with each other and with guests. You might start your visit hearing “Bright suns”, which is Batuu for hello. “Till the Spire” is one way to say good-bye. But if you’re leaving Black Spire Outpost to return to Earth (i.e. Disneyland Park), you might hear a citizen ask if you’re “going off-world”.
There are some Star Wars-themed expressions that contribute to the spirit and backstories of the land. [Read more…]
With previews of Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in full swing in advance of next week’s May 31st opening, info about the upcoming land is populating the internet in most interesting ways.
For instance, even though the prices for Oga’s Cantina have not been officially revealed on the Disneyland website (though you can see the drink listings in full), we have been able to learn the prices for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (including those with specialty souvenir glasses) which will be available at the Cantina.
How? Through eBay! [Read more…]
Walt Disney World is experiencing a lot of growth, and we’re not just talking about the opening of new attractions like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!
Indeed, Disney World is growing in many different ways, and by 2021 — just one year from now — our vacations to the World might look very different.
Let’s take a look at the changes coming to Disney World and what they might mean for you and your visit!
With the May 31st opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland fast approaching (and the August 29th opening in Disney World’s Hollywood Studios to follow), more and more details are coming to light about the land just about every day.
And those details include information on the five dining options coming to Galaxy’s Edge. For instance, just last Friday when menus were revealed for each location, we got a look at which beverages would be available as morning drinks at Oga’s Cantina. [Read more…]

It’s almost time
… Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disneyland on May 31st and in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios on August 29th. Five eateries will serve visitors in Black Spire Outpost.
And Disney has just provided further details on some of the galactic goodies we’ll experience when we set foot on planet Batuu!
Disney shares that: “due to the remote nature of the planet, Batuu has a deep history of ‘farm to table’ style whole foods with cooking traditions that have been passed down generation to generation, influencing the dishes found in the outpost. Each dish tells a story of the local culture, drawing inspiration from unique spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.” [Read more…]
Look, we’re thrilled that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been added to both Disney World and Disneyland. But we know not everyone is as pumped as us to be part of the Star Wars universe. Indeed, some of us just don’t get the hype. But that doesn’t mean we don’t love Galaxy’s Edge — our love just might be for reasons separate from the franchise and its distinctive elements.
And we know you’re out there — the folks who just don’t really care about Star Wars. It’s OK! You can still have a blast at Galaxy’s Edge.
Let’s take a look at how to prepare…
We can’t wait to explore a new land — regardless of the story behind it! Galaxy’s Edge is described as being immersive, and the best part of that is that immersion doesn’t necessarily require you to know what everything is. [Read more…]
opens in Disneyland on May 31 and in Walt Disney World on August 29. In addition to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, lots of new merchandise locations, and plenty of intergalactic immersion, we’re really looking forward to the food (and drinks!). Black Spire Outpost will play host to three new eateries and two new watering holes — you know we’re gonna try ’em all!
When Galaxy’s Edge opens, we’re going to need a quick burst of energy to fuel the fun. Enter: Milk Stand. This stand will serve up — you guessed it! — milk (well…kinda)! But since this is the planet Batuu, it’s Blue Milk! And since this is actually Florida, this non-dairy drink will be soft-frozen like a milkshake to keep us cool in the Outpost!
Milk Stand will also serve Green Milk, which Disney says has a refreshing citrus component. [Read more…]
