2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend
The 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend will take place from January 6th – January 10th, 2027! Disney shares that “2027 will mark the 30th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Half Marathon! In celebration, inaugural mascot Donald Duck will be the star of the show at every race on every course over the January 6–10 weekend, inviting athletes, fans and his Disney pals to join in his antics.”

General registration for the 2027 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend is NOW OPEN as of March 17th, 2026 on runDisney.com. For Club runDisney Gold and Platinum members, registration opened on March 10th, 2026.
Events tend to sell out very quickly. So, if running in these races is something you’re dreaming of doing, be ready to go as soon as the registration window opens!

The distances for the event include: the Walt Disney World Marathon, the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, the Walt Disney World 10K, and the Walt Disney World 5K.
Participants may also opt to take part in Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge by participating in both the Walt Disney World Half Marathon on Saturday AND the Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday for a total of 39.3 miles (and you’ll receive an EXTRA medal for your efforts), or the Dopey Challenge whereby guests participate in ALL FOUR RACES for a total of 48.6 miles! (Yep, you’ll get an extra medal for that one, too, PLUS the Goofy’s Challenge medal.)
Virtual Races are also available for all distances and both Challenges.

Walt Disney World Marathon
When: January 10, 2027
Start Time: 4:30AM EST
Character Theme: Mickey and Minnie
“On January 10th, runners taking on these 26.2 miles will do so alongside Donald Duck as he continues his timeless effort to outshine his good pals, Mickey and Minnie. All in good fun, of course. I mean, we’re not gonna remind him of who the actual leader of the club is. Are you?”

Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge combines the Walt Disney World Half Marathon on Saturday with the Walt Disney World Marathon on Sunday—a total of 39.3 miles through the beautiful Walt Disney World® Resort cheered on by some of your favorite Disney characters, plus plenty of Disney entertainment.
Complete both races within the pacing requirements and you’ll earn the Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge medal in addition to your Half Marathon and Marathon medals. Registration for Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge is required to receive the Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge medal (meaning you will not receive the Challenge medal if you register for each race separately).

The Dopey Challenge combines ALL FOUR RACES of the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend — a total of 48.6 miles through the beautiful Walt Disney World® Resort cheered on by some of your favorite Disney characters, plus plenty of Disney entertainment.
Complete all four races within the pacing requirements and you’ll earn the Dopey Challenge medal in addition to your 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon, and Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge medals. runDisney Health & Fitness Expo
Participants must attend the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at least one day prior to their first event to pick up their race bib, participant shirt, and pre-purchased merchandise. Additionally, EXCLUSIVE event merchandise will be available for purchase, as well as pieces from several vendors.
PLEASE BE AWARE: runDisney merchandise is quite popular, and Disney often utilizes a Virtual Queue to manage busier times throughout the Expo, especially on the first day. You can learn more about how to join a Virtual Queue HERE.
