Get ready for Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, opening in the SUMMER of 2026!

Disney has shared that the attraction will be “fueled by the tasty tunes of the Electric Mayhem and the high-speed hijinks of The Muppets.”

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — The Story

The Muppets are moving to Sunset Boulevard and taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith! The Muppets will be the star of the show on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and will be teaming up with some of “music’s biggest stars for a rockin’ music festival.”

Listen up, music — umm, Muppet — fans: You’re going to be treatedto a VIP tour of  G-Force Records, which is under new management by The Muppets!

Be prepared for G-Force Records to have a snazzy new look now that Scooter’s uncle, real estate tycoon and owner of the Muppet Theatre, J.P. Grosse, is in charge.

The thing is, Electric Mayhem is also lined up to headline their biggest Hollywood concert ever! From here, “Along with the finest audio engineers (all penguins, of course), we’ll see Scooter doing his best to convince Electric Mayhem to stop jamming and get to their increasingly restless fans. But will it be enough time to get the band and the town and onstage on time?”

You’ll be able to see the iconic scenery and landmarks of Tinseltown, but with a Muppet twist. Oh, and it sounds like those super-stretch limos will stick around, as Disney teased, “With the help from our friends at Muppet Labs and a very fast limousine, we’ll take a twisting, turning, and screamingly fun road trip across Hollywood to reach the concert in time.”

This will be the first Disney ride to feature The Muppets and Disney promises “laughter, screams and new tunes for this attraction for fans to enjoy throughout the adventure.”

Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets — The Music

If you’ve enjoyed a ride on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, then you understand the major role that music plays in the attraction. Disney has stated that the retheme will feature the Electric Mayhem playing iconic hits. They also tested that “G Force Records will release a concert setlist soon,” so we’re sure to hear more!

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard

The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Courtyard is getting a makeover with new psychedelic colors! It’s inspired by the famous car paint job from The Muppets movie, and the piano motif will feature a golden key in reference to the band’s fearless leader.

Additionally, there will be plenty of Muppets-themed merchandise on Sunset Boulevard.

The Muppets in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

In August 2024, Disney revealed plans for a Monsters, Inc. land coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Then in November 2024, Disney confirmed the upcoming location of the new land. It was shared that Monsters, Inc. land will be taking over the Grand Avenue south side of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This area was also home to Muppets Courtyard. 

Muppets Courtyard hosted Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano and the Muppets-themed PizzeRizzo eatery. The Muppet*Vision 3D attraction, which opened in May of 1991 (when the area was named the Streets of America), was also located in Muppets Courtyard.

To make way for Monstropolis,  a phased closure in the area began in May 2025 and ended on June 8th, resulting in the permanent closure of Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, and PizzeRizzo, as well as Muppet*Vision 3D.

Along with the Monsters Inc. location announcement, Disney revealed that The Muppets would be taking over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, ensuring that The Muppets will still have a presence in Hollywood Studios. 

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith opened on July 29, 1999 in the Sunset Boulevard area in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The story? Well, it starts with a bit of a conundrum for the classic rock band… Aerosmith spent a little too much time in the recording studio, and now they’re late for their gig across town. They’ve gotta move FAST, and they want to take YOU along for the ride!

Riders board a “super-stretch limo” to take on this indoor dark roller coaster, which features a thrilling 0 to 57 mph launch in 2.8 seconds and three inversions (two rollover loops and one corkscrew). And it all happens to the tunes of Aerosmith.

Each ride vehicle plays a different Aerosmith hit, so riders might hear “Walk This Way,” “Dude (Looks Like a Lady),” “Sweet Emotion,” “Back in the Saddle,” or “Love in a Roller Coaster” (a version of “Love in an Elevator” rewritten exclusively for the ride)!

BTW, the current version Starring Aerosmith will be open to ride through the remainder of 2025.
