Kali River Rapids Closed for Refurbishment
Right now, several attractions and experiences are closed in Disney World and some will be for the early part of 2023. Away from Disney World, we’ve heard of two more Disney closures at Disney’s Aulani Resort!
We’ve seen current Disney CEO Bob Iger comment on a number of things — from Park Passes and Florida legal battles to gun control and rumors of a merger with Apple. But now someone else is doing the commenting — and it’s about Iger!

Disney is caught in the middle of a corporate debacle at the moment as Nelson Peltz and the Trian Group are preparing to stage a proxy battle following Peltz’s repeated requests to be added to Disney’s Board of Directors and Disney’s refusal to nominate him. Trian Partners, the activist firm, has about 9.4 million shares of Disney and Disney has urged shareholders to vote AGAINST adding Peltz to the Board. But just what does one celebrity think about all of this and about Iger as CEO? We’ve got the answer!

We have some BIG news for those of you at Disneyland! Hint: it has to do with the NEW reimagining of Toontown!

Toontown, an iconic land at Disneyland, has been closed since 2022 for a drastic refurbishment. So far, we know that the reimagining includes new interactive experiences that are fun for the whole family, more grassy areas, CenTOONial Park, and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway! These are just a few of the new, awesome things coming to Toontown — and we can’t WAIT to visit.
One of the most controversial parts of the current Disney World experience could be CHANGING in a big way.

The Park Pass reservation system was introduced after the COVID-19 park closures and has stuck around ever since, gaining lots of praise from various Disney executives but a heavy amount of criticism from Disney fans. Essentially, because of the Park Pass system, a valid ticket is no longer enough to get you into the parks. Instead, if you want to visit a Disney World park on any given day, you’ll need (1) a valid ticket, and (2) a Park Pass reservation for the first park you want to visit. But could the system soon be altered in a way that’ll make guests happier? One Disney executive thinks so.
Bob Iger replaced Bob Chapek as Disney’s CEO back in November 2022, but Chapek didn’t leave the company with empty pockets.

Disney recently filed an SEC report that lays out the details of executives’ and Board members’ salaries. It includes Chapek’s compensation for 2022 and the value of his severance package. [Read more…]
