Happy Monday! We’re back this week with another DFB Video, and today we’re digging into one of my favorite dishes: Macaroni and Cheese!
Wait… did I say “one”? Scratch that. Because not only are we checking out several of our favorite versions of Disney Mac and Cheese… we’ll also tell you how you can get a list of EACH and EVERY Mac and Cheese in Disney World! Basically, if I see Mac and Cheese on any Disney World menu, I order it so I can let you know where you can find your ideal dish. Does Mac and Cheese topped with pulled pork, coleslaw, AND onion rings appeal to you? How about shrimp-topped mac and cheese? Or are you more of a purist? No matter what, you’re bound to find at least one version (and probably more) that you’ll need to try on your next Disney World trip!

It sure is Fall Festival season around Disney World (and probably where you are, too!). The Fall Food Festival takes place at Riverside’s Lobby Courtyard Area from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, October 29th and Monday, October 30th. DFB Reader Todd K. kindly sent us this pic of the menu! (Thanks, Todd!!)

Port Orleans Resort, Riverside!
And Ol’ Man Island, with its fabulous, amoeba-shaped pool!
Nestled right by Ol’ Man Island is the home-y and rustic Muddy Rivers Pool Bar, and it’s everything you want out of a pool bar in the Bayou. (Haven’t thought about what you’d want out of a pool bar in the bayou? Let us help you visualize it.) There’s wood everywhere you look, including exposed rafters. At the base of the bar are weathered vertical wood panels in a variety of colors, creating the feeling that this bar has been pieced together over time. [Read more…]
Hey Guys! We’re back with another DFB Video today, and we’re checking out the BEST Disney World Resorts!
There is a LOT to consider when you’re planning your Disney World vacation… and at the top of the list is where to stay! Disney World has no shortage of beautifully themed Resorts to choose from. And while they all have their own style of Disney magic, we’d like to share our favorites with you today! [Read more…]
Cheese, glorious PIMENTO Cheese! It’s time for the ultimate Disney food trend crawl: the Pimento Cheese Crawl! We’ve been seeing this creamy cheese pop up in about two zillion places as of late, and with good reason.
In case you’re not familiar with the “caviar of the South”, it’s basically creamy cheddar cheese mixed with mayo (or sour cream) and pimento pieces. There are some spices in there as well, and those can vary from chef to chef (or from grandma to grandma!).
So if you’re like me, and you love all things Pimento Cheesy, THIS is the crawl for you! So, let’s begin.
First up, you’ll need to start your day at Animal Kingdom. Lucky for you, there’s a lot going on over there with the opening of Pandora — World of Avatar. So it’s the perfect time to hit that rope drop, work up an appetite on Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey, then make your way over to the Smiling Crocodile in Discovery Island. Who’s up for a bit of pub grub at The River Roost?
I seriously love River Roost lounge. It’s located in one of my favorite Disney World Resorts: Port Orleans — Riverside. Better yet, it’s home to Yeeha Bob, an honest-to-goodness Disney World treasure. Bob Jackson is a recipient of the Walt Disney Legacy Award who shares his humor, fun, energy, and music with audiences at the River Roost four nights a week.
Oh! And I’ve enjoyed some pretty tasty food here, too. I loved the trio of Prime Rib Sliders that used to be on the menu here. But those were taken off the list some time back, and I’ve been looking for a River Roost replacement.
So if you, too, find yourself at Port Orleans in search of some Potables, Victuals…
… and/or Libations and Spirits, then join me at The River Roost! [Read more…]
