Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a new roller coaster in EPCOT (well, it opened in 2022, so it’s new-ish 😂) but it quickly became a fan-favorite ride as soon as it opened. In fact, lots of people I know claim it’s their FAVORITE ride in all of Disney World. And it’s not hard to see why!

April 3rd, 2024, was a BIG day for the Walt Disney Company. The Annual Shareholder Meeting took place, where shareholders voted to elect Disney’s full slate of 12 board directors (against the Trian Group’s and Blackwell’s recommendations). But the election was only one part of this major meeting — we also got some pretty big updates from Disney executives like CEO Bob Iger!

We heard more about the new Moana 2 movie that’s coming out in November, got a sneak peek at the concept art for a possible Pandora land coming to Disneyland, and even learned that ESPN has secured NCAA football playoff rights through the 2031-2042 season (talk about planning ahead). Disney has been involved in a heated proxy battle with activist investor Nelson Peltz, who was petitioning to get multiple seats on the Company’s Board of Directors.

Trian Partners nominated Peltz and former Disney CFO Jay Rasulo to be elected to the Board, but Disney has made it clear they don’t endorse either candidate. It all came to a head during a vote at Disney’s 2024 Annual Shareholders Meeting, and now, we finally know who has come out as the victor in this long, drawn-out battle.

As someone who hates packing and unpacking, I was intrigued. But then I saw the price tag and I was suddenly less intrigued and more scared. But when I looked at the suitcase more carefully, I thought “hey, I think I could make something similar.” So I went to Amazon and — sure enough — you can create essentially the same thing for less than a QUARTER of the price.
