Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has kicked off the holiday season in Disney World, NEW shows are coming to the parks that star our favorite Pixar characters, resort gingerbread displays are complete, and so many new holiday treats.
Picture this: the Thanksgiving holiday is here, your family has the day off, and you’re spending the day in Disney World. You’ve got a nice, hearty Thanksgiving meal lined up at Liberty Tree Tavern, and you plan to visit some of your favorite Magic Kingdom rides throughout the day. Sounds pretty nice, eh?

Well, here’s the part we left out: Thanksgiving is notoriously one of the BUSIEST days in Disney World. The parks get pretty crowded, and Disney’s skip-the-line services tend to reach a record-high price. This year is no exception — Disney just revealed the prices for Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Spoiler alert: those Thanksgiving day skip-the-line passes are EXPENSIVE!Â
Before you know it, we’ll be ringing in a new year in Disney World! If you’re planning a trip to Disney World as 2024 comes to an end, you might want to check out this new Disney Resort event. Be warned, though — this Disney party is NOT cheap.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Disney World is expensive. Whether you’re staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort with your family or visiting Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort with your partner, the trip adds up pretty quickly. With all the recent price increases — and a controversial new luxury Lightning Lane Premier Pass option — it seems like Disney has no plans to lower costs. And now, Disney just announced a New Year’s Eve event at Disney’s Contemporary Resort is back (for $800 per person). Be ready to SPLURGE if you’re interested.
Let me tell you a little story about my last trip to Disney World. I landed at Orlando International Airport, and as soon as my feet hit that iconic green carpet, I knew what I had to do. I had to get myself to Disney World!

Now, several years ago, I used to be able to stroll right down to the Disney Magical Express zone, hop on a bus, and go straight to my Disney resort…for FREE. Yeah, that’s not a thing anymore (shocker). Instead, you’re on your own, people. YOU decide how you’re getting from the Orlando Airport (or any airport in the area) to Disney World. I recently tested two of the most popular options, Mears Connect and Uber, and I’m here to give you my honest thoughts on both services.
I’m gonna cut right to the chase. There’s a big blue curtain at the Contemporary Resort in Disney World, and we’re dying to see what’s hiding back there. Just look at that thing! It looks like it belongs on the set of Let’s Make a Deal. What’s behind curtain number one?! WE MUST KNOW!

Don’t worry. We’re not completely clueless. We know that the Contemporary Resort is preparing to unveil its annual holiday gingerbread display, and those Disney bakers are hard at work behind the scenes. But this year’s display is extra special. Why? Four words: Cinderella Castle Dream Lights. Let’s talk about it.
Deck the halls! Trim the tree! Let it snow! Can you tell we’re in the holiday spirit? What better way to celebrate the season than with a little holiday shopping?
