There are two things you can almost always count on during a Disney World trip. You’re going to walk an absurd number of steps, and at some point, Florida weather is going to Florida weather all over your plans. Sunshine, humidity, sudden downpours that feel personal. You know the drill.

So when I first saw silicone waterproof shoe covers pop up as a supposed Disney essential, I laughed (out loud). They looked like something you’d find in the back corner of an online marketplace at 2 AM while doom scrolling. There was absolutely no way these were going to work in the parks.
