Disney World is a popular place, so crowds are kind of unavoidable. But, if you know where to look — you might just be better prepared to handle them (and maybe decide to visit on another day). Here’s how to predict if Magic Kingdom will be crowded when you’re there.

Earlier this month, the governing district held a board of supervisors meeting that resulted in the removal of a long-held benefit for its employees. That benefit granted employees free access to the Disney World parks (essentially a Disney World Annual Pass). Now, following backlash from that decision, the board has decided to put in place a new system to benefit its employees.

As a part of this overhaul, 7,000 job cuts went into motion, and many lost their jobs in the following months. In March, the company laid off more than 300 employees in China who were working on its streaming services. Now, those layoffs are creating more questions as malfunctions affect the company’s streaming programs.

It’s a good idea to be prepared for the unexpected. Transportation can get delayed, rides can shut down because of technical difficulties, and technology can malfunction. Occasionally, we’ve seen the My Disney Experience app have some trouble, and this week it seems to be struggling again.
It’s been a long couple of months for the entertainment industry.

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) went on strike back in May, after negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) broke down. Shortly after, the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) followed suit, with their strike starting on July 13th. The two joined forces, standing on the picket lines for a historic strike that has halted many TV and film productions over the following months. Now, a tentative agreement has been reached that could end one of these strikes.
Disney World is more than just attractions, characters, and fun snacks — although the latter is one of our favorite parts about it.
