We’ve eaten at every single Disney Springs restaurant (well, all restaurants in Disney World, for that matter), and sometimes it can be so hard to choose where to eat. That’s why we’re constantly going back to each restaurant and trying their new food to see if it’s worth a stop.
City Works just dropped new menu items, and we’re diving in. Should this be your go-to at Disney Springs? Let’s find out!
We started off with the Lavender Margarita for $15.95, which features Lunazul Blanco, Cointreau, lavender syrup, agave syrup, and a housemade sour mix.
What a way to start off our meal! This drink was very, very sweet, which we loved. It was very smooth and only burned once the alcohol hit your chest, so it was a lighter drink. The sour mix didn’t really come through, but the lavender was subtle and not as floral as you might expect. The agave flavor is nice and refreshing, and once we added a bit of lime, it brought in a subtle, sour twist. It was a solid choice and very enjoyable.
Then we also had the Spicy Watermelon Paloma for $15.95, which has Camarena Silver, lime juice, chili simple syrup, watermelon syrup, and grapefruit soda.
The three words that come to our mind are sweet, sour, and spicy! It burns right at the top of your throat in the best way. We’re not sure whether the spice comes from the chili garnish or the simple syrup, but it was definitely there. The watermelon syrup was the other dominant flavor, which was offset by the sour grapefruit soda and lime juice.
For our entrée, we had the Pastor Pork Tenderloin for $30.95, which came with marinated pork tenderloin, grilled pineapple salsa, white onion, cilantro-lime rice, adobo sauce, and micro cilantro.
While the tenderloin was a little hard to cut through, it was pretty juicy on the inside. Not quite as tender as we hoped, but we liked the black pepper seasoning on the outside, which was fairly strong. The pork didn’t have much of a crust, but overall, we enjoyed the flavor. The adobo sauce was a highlight, as it perfectly complemented the pork with its spice. The spice isn’t too hot, but it elevated the flavor and paired well with the sweet pineapple salsa. The rice was fluffy, but the price was where we felt a little lost. Most of the dish is rice, and $30 is a lot for the entree, which did have good flavor but didn’t blow us away.
Finally, we ended with Funfetti Funnel Cake for $12.45. This is a funnel cake with vanilla ice cream, orange cream cheese frosting, berry jam, and fruity pebbles, so no sprinkles here!
The funnel cake was crunchy and fluffy, and we really enjoyed the ice cream. The berry jam was the dominating flavor and overpowered the orange cream cheese frosting. The fruity pebbles added a fun crunch, too. Was it wildly unique? No, but it was a fun option that the whole table could enjoy.
Overall, we’re not sure we would run back for the Pastor Pork Tenderloin, but we did enjoy our Lavender Margarita and funnel cake. In general, City Works has many comforting, familiar dishes and usually has room for larger parties, so it can be a great place to stop by, even if you don’t order the new menu items.
These dishes are only available now through June 16th, so if something is striking your fancy, make sure you get over to City Works soon. Make sure you keep following Disney Food Blog for more of the best food reviews around Disney World so you can have the best vacation ever.
