There has been SO much resort construction around Walt Disney World recently. With areas closed for refurbishment and amenities getting refreshed. However, one of those areas is finally open, and we are so excited!
Let’s jump into everything we know about the all-new pool area now open at Fort Wilderness!
Fort Wilderness Campground Resort is located just a short boat ride from Wilderness Lodge. Unlike the grandeur of the Lodge, guests at Fort Wilderness can expect a more laid-back traditional camping vibe. With tent camping, RVs, and the new DVC Cabins.
As such, the theming of this resort is simpler than what you would typically find around the Disney Resorts, but that doesn’t make it any less charming and magical. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool area is still undergoing some refurbishment, but recently a new pool area opened!
This simple pool area is surrounded by the woods, with boulders circling the water, really immersing guests into the feeling that they are out exploring the wilderness.
This pool area has plenty of seating and even a super fun nod to the former River Country that you can see displayed on this fun wagon sitting next to the water!
Overall, this new pool area is just the beginning of the refurbishment coming to Fort Wilderness, including an updated lobby! Plus, the all-new Disney Lakeshore Lodge is currently being built right next to the resort. If you want a little more excitement from the pool area when staying at Fort Wilderness, just hop on over to the original pool area for even more touches of theming and a corkscrew slide!
And if you’re staying at Wilderness Lodge, don’t forget to take advantage of all the fun and unique offerings you can only find there! Like horseback riding, archery, or kayaking. And of course, visit the incredible Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue!
This Disney resort is truly like no other and allows you to immerse yourself in nature and find a little pocket of quiet amid your busy Disney Vacation!
