Why We’re Expecting BIG Disney News On May 6th

Disney loves to release news in the most random places, so we always have to keep an eye out for everything.

Magic Kingdom’s Cinderella Castle

One way they like to sneakily drop news is at their finance meetings. A new one is just around the corner, and we’re expecting Disney to drop something exciting!

On May 6th at 8:30 AM EST, The Walt Disney Company will be hosting a webcast to discuss its second fiscal quarter financial results. Disney likes to release information about its numbers in the parks, cruise line, streaming, ESPN, and more.

We generally learn about costs, attendance numbers, and overall, how each area of business is doing in terms of finance.

Disney World’s Tomorrowland

They’ve also been known to sneak in announcements like sequels to movies, new trailers, a ride refurbishment, and sometimes bigger things like a new park or attraction. Now, we’re not necessarily expecting anything specific nor any huge announcements, but we would love some updates on current projects in Disney Parks, such as the Disneyland expansion project…

A new land themed to Pixar Animation Studios’ “Monsters, Inc.” is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Taking place after the events of the film, Monstropolis need humans’ laughter to power the city. Guests can even ride on a door like Mike and Sully in the iconic scene from the film with Disney’s first-ever suspended coaster.

The new Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom will feature fan-favorite Disney Villains from popular Walt Disney Animation Studios films and two new attractions.
