Over the last 40+ years, EPCOT’s World Showcase has become beloved for its authentic architecture, themes, and cuisine representing the cultures of the countries each pavilion represents…. which makes it surprising that the United Kingdom Pavilion is lacking a spot for afternoon tea, given its importance to British culture.

However, some Disney Adults are taking matters into their own hands.

The U.K. Pavilion’s Rose & Crown Dining Room used to host an afternoon tea experience, which, as we noted back in the day, included a selection of tea and tea sandwiches for a $30 per person experience. However, the event was discontinued several years ago.

So, some Disney guests have taken things into their own hands. First, they’re booking early afternoon reservations at the Rose & Crown, roughly in time for afternoon tea. Then, arguably most importantly, they’re ordering tea. Specifically, the Rose & Crown offers Twinings Hot Tea for $4.49.

More adventurous guests may go for the $17.50 Indigo Hibiscus cocktail, which includes Empress 1908 gin, Bols Blue Curaçao liqueur, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, Orgeat (almond), Lemon, and Hibiscus Grenadine.

Whether they’re enjoying tea or a tea-inspired cocktail, they need food to complete the experience. However, the Rose & Crown doesn’t currently offer any traditional tea sandwiches,

However, here is some lighter fare like the plant-based $25 Tikka Masala (A blend of seasonal vegetables in a curry sauce served with Basmati Rice and naan) or the $13.00 Coronation Salad (Crisp salad with green apple chutney, radish, and onion bhaji topped with Madras dressing). Of course, some guests eschew anything light whatsoever, instead going for the traditional Fish & Chips, Bangers & Mash, and Shepherd’s Pie.

So there you have it, a DIY afternoon tea experience at the U.K. Pavilion. Of course, guests who want to enjoy an official afternoon tea can head over to the Grand Floridian for the new Garden View Tea Room experience, which returned in March following a 6-year closure.

The revamped experience is “a proper British afternoon tea experience” featuring “premium Twinings tea selections paired with delightful scones, small bites and exquisite pastries” all themed to Alice in Wonderland.
