Yes, we absolutely love Disney Parks, and we’ve been known to run through Universal Studios with our wands in hand. While we’re generally here for the food, we just love theme parks in general and keep our eyes on other parks throughout the country, including Six Flags.
According to Business Wire, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has officially sold six of its U.S. parks to EPR Properties.
The six parks sold during this deal include:
- Valleyfair (Minnesota)
- Worlds of Fun (Missouri)
- Michigan’s Adventure (Michigan)
- Schlitterbahn Waterpark Galveston (Texas)
- Six Flags St. Louis (Missouri)
- Six Flags Great Escape (New York)
Six Flags La Ronde in Montreal is also expected to close in the second quarter of 2026.
Six Flags President and CEO, John Reilly, said, “This divestiture reflects Six Flags’ disciplined approach to portfolio optimization and the decisive action we are taking to concentrate our capital and operational focus on properties with the greatest long-term growth potential. This portfolio refinement further positions Six Flags to execute more effectively in 2026 and beyond, and I am confident in the opportunities ahead as we continue taking steps to drive improved operating performance, margin expansion, free cash flow generation, and earnings growth.”
EPR is planning to partner with Enchanted Parks to continue running the six properties. EPR will use the Six Flags brand through the end of 2026, subject to certain requirements, and no significant impact on guests is expected during this transition. The parks will continue to have regular operating schedules, and all season passes sold will be valid through the 2026 operating season, including the multi-park pass, which allows you to visit other Six Flags locations.
Six Flags continues to own 21 theme parks, 14 water parks, and 9 resort properties. Make sure you keep following DFB for more theme park news.
