Disney World is going through some MASSIVE changes right now, between new lands, rides, restaurants, and a whole lot more. 

EPCOT

While most of those changes are still a ways away, updates are coming even sooner to EPCOT. Whether you already have a trip to this park planned for this summer or are still thinking about making the jump, trust us when we say you’re going to want to check out these changes coming to EPCOT soon!

Changes are hitting EPCOT this summer, and we can’t wait! Summer is one of our favorite times to visit this park because there is always so much happening. This year, even more exciting changes are on the horizon (see what we did there?), and we wanted to make sure you knew about them, so let’s get into it all!

Soarin’ Across America

Soarin’ Around the World is an extremely popular ride in EPCOT’s Land Pavilion, and it’s easy to see why. This attraction takes riders on an aerial tour of various countries and landscapes, complete with smells and the feeling of wind in your hair. But a NEW version of the ride is coming to EPCOT soon. Soarin’ will transform into Soarin’ Across America this summer to honor the United States’ 250th birthday, and the change will OFFICIALLY take place on May 26th, 2026!

Soarin’ Around the World will close on May 13th as changes are implemented, which will include a scenic tour and celebration of many of the country’s most awe-inspiring areas.

The Single BIGGEST Announcement Disney Made This Month

Food & Wine Festival

While the official dates for the 2026 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival have yet to be announced, this annual event will return this summer, likely in August based on past years.

2024 Food and Wine Festival

Recognized as the Original Disney Food Festival, the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival began in 1995 with 25 Marketplaces situated around World Showcase. Featuring incredible special events, informative culinary and beverage demonstrations, celebrity chefs, and delicious Marketplace Food Booths around the park, this annual event is a can’t-miss part of the Disney calendar!

If Disney follows the same pattern in 2026 as it did in 2024 and 2025, this year’s festival would last from August 27 through November 21st, though we’re still waiting on confirmation of those dates. Don’t worry, we’ll let you know as soon as something is announced!

Cool Kids’ Summer

Get ready for Cool Kids’ Summer to return to Disney World from May 26th to September 8th, 2026! While special events and activities are happening all around the parks and beyond, EPCOT is home to one of our favorite new additions to this event. GoofyCore is returning to EPCOT’s CommuniCore Hall, where guests can dance and play along with the Goof Troop, DJ Dance Pants, and Goofy himself in fun activities.

LOTS of fun here!

Goofy’s Game Machine presents playtime favorites such as Goofy Says, Balloon Bonanza, and Parachutes ‘n’ Pipsqueaks. It’s a great experience for adults and kiddos alike, and offers a nice, air-conditioned respite from the sweltering summer heat at Disney World!
