If you’ve ever wandered through the Walt Disney World Dolphin and thought, “You know what this evening needs? A fancy cocktail, some crab nachos, and a brief moment where I pretend I’m the kind of person who casually says things like ‘Let’s split the tuna tartare,’” then congratulations, bluezoo is calling your name.
Todd English’s bluezoo, tucked inside the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in the EPCOT Resort Area, has long been one of those under-the-radar grown-up Disney World dining spots that feels just a little more polished, a little more date-night, and a little more “let’s leave the stroller traffic behind for two seconds.” The restaurant is a AAA Four-Diamond signature dining location known for coastal cuisine with international and New American influences, plus a sleek underwater-inspired design that leans elegant instead of kitschy. In other words: it’s seafood with a glow-up.
And now? There’s an extra little plot twist.
This spring, bluezoo is offering Happy Hour twice daily, with one window from 4PM to 6PM and another from 10PM to 11PM. Yes, twice. As in, you get a pre-dinner chance to save and a late-night chance to swoop in for a post-fireworks sip. Frankly, this is the kind of double-feature energy we support.
If you’re not super familiar with bluezoo, here’s the quick-and-snappy version: This is celebrity chef Todd English’s signature restaurant at the Dolphin, and it’s built around seafood, big flavors, and a menu that tries to do a little more than the standard “here is your fish, goodbye.” The current menu still highlights dishes like the restaurant’s customizable “simply fish,” whole fish meunière, peppercorn-crusted ahi tuna, crab fried rice, and seafood towers if your vacation mood is less “quick bite” and more “release the shellfish.”
Even the lounge menu has some tempting little siren songs. During the standard happy hour, you’ll find discounted drinks like the Zooberry and Serenity, along with happy hour bites including shrimp cocktail, tuna tartare, crab nachos, Olive’s flatbread, and tempura green beans. That is a pretty solid lineup for anyone who wants something more elevated than “grab a bag of chips and power through.”
And honestly, that’s where bluezoo really shines.
This is not the place you go because you need the cheapest meal in the EPCOT resort area. This is the place you go when you want your evening to feel a little cooler, a little calmer, and maybe a little more adult than the average park day. We have said for years that bluezoo feels like a true experience, it is a sensory event and a great grown-up escape where the team clearly puts thought into both flavor and presentation. It’s stylish without being stuffy, and inventive without trying so hard that dinner turns into a science project.
And even after all this time, it’s still a strong option, especially for ambiance and seafood fans, but expectations matter. If you go in looking for a relaxing, upscale night with some well-chosen bites and cocktails, you’ll probably have a much better time than if you go in expecting the culinary moon and stars to descend directly onto your table.
And that’s exactly why this happy hour setup is such a smart move. For one thing, it gives you a way to try bluezoo without going all-in on a full signature dinner. The lounge and bar is a great way to enjoy the restaurant’s atmosphere and menu at a lower commitment level, especially if you want a taste of the experience without building your whole night around it. Happy hour makes that even easier.
This could be a great fit for:
- Couples looking for a date-night warm-up before dinner elsewhere.
- Friends doing a progressive dining night around Crescent Lake.
- Seafood fans who want a more refined snack-and-sip stop.
- Adults sneaking away from the theme park chaos for an hour.
- And, very importantly, the night owls in your group who want a cocktail and an app after EPCOT fireworks instead of calling it a night like responsible people.
That second happy hour window from 10PM to 11PM is the real ringer here. Disney World does not exactly suffer from a shortage of places to get a drink, but a late-night happy hour at a signature-adjacent lounge in the EPCOT resort area? That’s a fun little loophole in the evening. If you’re staying at the Swan, Dolphin, BoardWalk, Yacht Club, or Beach Club, this could be an especially easy add-on to your night.
The bottom line is that bluezoo has always been one of those spots that works best when you know exactly what it is. It’s not trying to be character dining. It’s not trying to be loud. It’s not trying to hand you a giant novelty dessert in a souvenir bucket shaped like a sea creature. It’s an upscale seafood restaurant and lounge with a polished atmosphere, a menu full of coastal favorites, and now, this spring, two daily happy hour windows that make it a lot easier to pop in without the full signature-dining splurge.
So yes, if your Disney World travel style includes the occasional oysters-and-cocktails detour, bluezoo just got a lot more interesting.
Choosing where to eat at Disney World can feel weirdly like applying for a second job, except this one comes with less pay and more spreadsheets. You’ve got menus to stalk, reviews to decode, and dining reservations that disappear faster than a basket of bread at a table of Disney Adults. That’s where our Guide to Disney World Dining comes in. We pulled all the useful stuff into one place so you can stop overthinking every meal and get back to the part of vacation you actually came for.
