It’s official! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom has CHANGED…a LOT.
Now, we all know the ride has been closed since August,2025, and during its closure, it got a TON of new updates, including new ride vehicles, new scenes, new interactive targets, new blasters, and MORE. Well, we’ve had a chance to ride it a few times, and as we rode it, we began noticing that there were some things hidden in the ride that we might have easily missed. So we’re sharing all these Easter eggs with you so you can keep an eye out for them.
Now, there are some things that aren’t so hidden, like targets that actually turn green when you hit them (FINALLY) and blasters that aren’t attached to the ride vehicles. These two things alone will make it so much easier to score those big points when you ride it.
So it took us a few rides to notice all these hidden details, but we’re going to list them out for you, so you can find them yourself! There are some we have to talk about that were in the original version but are worth a good mention. The carts are battery operated since they’re technically toys.
The Little Green Men on the wall have their own blasters, too. Do you think they’ve gotten Galactic Hero? They have two different colored lasers, too.
You’re going to watch for those flashing and white illuminated targets. They’re random throughout the ride and are worth more points than other targets.

A Cast Member also recommended that you use one hand to pull the trigger and hold the blaster, and use the other one to steady it for more accuracy.
You can also continuously hold the trigger down vs clicking and releasing to be able to hit as many points as possible.
You’ll also be able to see your score update on the screen of your vehicle as you continue to score more. It doesn’t explicitly say it, but we think the bottom symbols that move up as you shoot more are your ranking. While the iconic sign with the rankings and points is still there…
…you’ll also be able to see it on your screen after you get your photo taken.
When we asked about Galactic Hero and potentially getting a sticker or pin like they had before, there was some debate on whether you get anything for Galactic Hero since you can officially score about 1 million points. Previously, it tapped out at 999,999,999 because there were only nine number slots, but with the digital screen, you can score more.
We can’t wait for everyone to experience this new version of the ride, and we’ll be covering even more Disney World updates in the future, so keep following DFB for more.
