It’s finally happening — we’re setting sail on the Disney Adventure!
The Disney Adventure’s home port is in Singapore, and it is the first Disney Cruise Line ship to sail from Singapore’s Marina Bay Cruise Centre throughout Southeast Asia. We’re exploring everything there is to see, do, and eat on this ship, and right now, we’re taking you with us to Pixar Market Restaurant.
Pixar Market Restaurant is themed around the art and artists from Pixar Animation Studios. Breakfast and lunch are buffet-style, but the restaurant becomes a table service spot for rotational dining for dinner. Here’s a quick peek at what’s on the menu:
- Shiromaru with tonkotsu pork broth, egg noodles, pork belly chashu, sesame kikurage mushrooms, bean sprouts, menma, and spring onions
- Green Papaya Salad with long beans, chili, and grape tomatoes with palm sugar lime dressing
- Lemon Thai Basil Tart with lemon curd, Thai basil whipped ganache, Swiss meringue, and raspberry sauce is a must.
This restaurant is super cute, and we love all the decor everywhere! It’s definitely a great spot to head if you’re looking for some classic eats or want a fun, lively meal in the middle of your busy cruise day.
Everywhere you look, you’ll see screencaps and artwork from multiple different Pixar animated films, such as Coco, Turning Red, Monsters, Inc., and more.
Be sure to look up and down, too, because you’ll find that the floors and light fixtures in the different rooms are also themed to the Pixar films — the details here really are stunning!
We decided to stop by for breakfast to check out their buffet, and we piled our plates high with some of their most popular offerings, which were a mix of American, Asian, and Indian style offerings.
We started off with some Mickey Waffles, which had the classic vanilla flavor we know and love, but we did find them to be undercooked. The Congee we had was warm and comforting, and reminded us almost of savory oatmeal. There was lots of chicken in it and so many little things to help dress it up, like green onions, chili oil, fried garlic, fried ginger, and more. We loved it, and if you love savory dishes, it’s absolutely worth giving it a try.
We also grabbed some Miso Soup, which was wonderfully warm and helped us feel even more awake. We added green onions and tofu to it to dress it up, and overall, there was an excellent umami flavor. It was tangy, salty, and mild, and we’d get it again for sure.
The Sautéed Mushrooms we grabbed were fine, but nothing to write home about. They were very earthy, as to be expected, but we wouldn’t get them again. A Cast Member also begged us to grab the Blue Coconut Rice, and we’re glad we did! The rice was cooked to perfection, and it was nice and fluffy without being sticky. It wasn’t overcooked, and there was only a subtle coconut flavor that made it slightly sweet.
The Raspberry Danish we had was flaky, buttery, and sweet, but the Bacon was unfortunately pretty floppy. Finally, the Kaya Toast was the biggest surprise because it was sweet on the inside, thanks to the coconut jam, the bread was well toasted, and this was overall a fun breakfast treat!
We think this is a solid space to stop for a decent buffet breakfast or lunch, and if you and your family are big fans of Pixar. There’s so much to experience on board; sometimes you want a quick meal before you make your way to your next event, and this is a solid choice!
