EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival has finally arrived, and we’re spending the whole day eating our way around the park, checking out the entertainment, and enjoying the experiences. We love this festival every year, and we’re so excited it’s back!

Flower and Garden Festival

We thought we knew about everything coming to the festival, so it was a pleasant surprise when something new just popped up at EPCOT out of nowhere. We figured you’d want to know about it so you can check it out when you come for the festival!

We’ve LOVED our first day at the festival so far. We’ve gotten to try so many foods and beverages, and check out everything the festival has to offer. We had our day planned out, but we weren’t expecting to accidentally stumble across a little show that was happening in Communicore Hall.

CommuniCore Hall “Sunlight to Starbright” Exhibit

For the festival, Communicore Hall is hosting a special exhibit — Sunlight to Starbright! It’s been explained by Disney as a way to “Get a bee’s eye view of a garden that’s larger-than-life, as it transitions from day to night. From fireflies that glow in the dark, to flowers that open by moonlight, each element of the garden becomes more magical once the sun goes down.”

You could always spend the morning checking out the topiaries

When we went inside to take a look at the Spike the Bee topiary, we noticed there was a countdown similar to the countdown with the gingerbread Spaceship Earth.

CommuniCore Hall Garden

Once it hits zero, the lighting changes, and the flight of the bumblebee starts playing. Then the light becomes dim, and you hear a gentle thunderstorm with very soft music playing.

A surprise!!

This goes on for a few minutes and a few songs, and then it returns to its default setting.

A surprise show is happening!

A Cast Member told us this happens every 80 to 90 minutes and that there is a different one of these at night. We happened to stumble upon it at around 1:20.
