DinoLand U.S.A. is under construction to become a newly reimagined Tropical Americas land! This change will bring three brand new rides, along with a new restaurant and stores.
After DINOSAUR’s closure last month, construction has been well underway to get the new land open by next year at Disney World. We’ve got a NEW look at some aerial photos of the construction progress, and it looks like things are moving right along. Let’s check it out!
Thanks to @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter and Instagram, we’ve got a new look at the Tropical Americas construction at Animal Kingdom. At the former DINOSAUR ride, the exterior fountain and Iguanadon statue have been removed. There’s now a layer of dirt in its place. Disney seems to be in the process of gutting the ride since there’s a large pile of metal poles on the ground, in addition to what looks like fossil pieces from the queue in the pile on the top left corner.
They’re keeping the sidewalk in the ride pathway intact, but Dino-Sue has gone missing! The replica of Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil Sue was specifically made for Dinoland, so we’re curious where she’ll end up.
On the other side of the land, Pueblo Esperanza will have an Encanto ride and an animal-themed carousel. The Encanto ride looks similar to our last update, but a lot of new progress has been made on the carousel!
The future carousel has a new yellow tarp on the bottom, which is a moisture barrier that will go under the foundation. There’s a new structure on the left, which is likely an operating booth. There’s also a new concrete wall along the border of the land that will act as a barrier.
Along the back of the land, Imagineering is testing paint colors and patterns for the buildings. They’ll leave these out for a while to see how the colors look in every weather and time of day. We spy some brick, stonework, and faux bushes!
We’re so excited for Pueblo Esperanza to open. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more construction updates!
