If you’re staying at a Deluxe Disney World Resort, you can enjoy the awesome perk of Extended Evening Hours.
Extended Evening Hours at Animal Kingdom
Extended Evening Hours are offered a couple of times a week, where Deluxe Resort guests get two extra hours in a particular park after it closes to day guests. For most of the year, Extended Evening Hours are offered at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, but now they’re returning to Animal Kingdom!
According to the Disney World calendar, Extended Evening Hours will be available at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Monday, May 4th. That day, Animal Kingdom will be open from 8AM-6PM, and Extended Evening Hours will be offered from 6PM-8PM.
Animal Kingdom During Extended Evening Hours
It makes sense that this perk will be offered at Animal Kingdom as we get closer to summer. This is a park that doesn’t usually stay open late for the sake of the animals, and when May rolls around, it’ll be getting dark later in the evening. The one downside to this perk being offered in Animal Kingdom is that there isn’t as much to experience as there is at the other parks.
Extended evening hours in Animal Kingdom
During Extended Evening Hours at Animal Kingdom, the four attractions available are:
- Avatar Flight of Passage
- Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
- Na’vi River Journey
- Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
The DinoLand, U.S.A. attractions used to be included, but that land closed completely at the beginning of February 2026. Kilimanjaro Safaris typically closes before or around sunset anyway.
Flight of Passage
During these hours, wait times in the park are typically quite short, meaning you can get popular attractions done faster than you could during the daytime. If you can hang late, they’re a great way to get the most of your Deluxe Resort stay.

I hope this will be more than one night. Heading down in May and would definitely take advantage. I don’t care about the absence of attractions as I just love to walk this park in the evening.
