SO much is happening right now in Disney World that it’s easy to lose track of all the construction projects. Three of Disney World’s four parks are getting new lands and expansions, while Disney World hotels are busy getting updated lobbies, rooms, and more.

So if you’ve forgotten that Disney World is also building a brand new hotel, it’s understandable. However, we didn’t forget, and we’ve been keeping an eye out for updates. Well, now, thanks to some new photos, we can see all the progress that’s been made on this new hotel, Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge.
Lakeshore Lodge will be a new Disney Vacation Club property that is located at what used to be Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. The hotel is “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists.”

New photos from @bioreconstruct show just how much progress has been made on the hotel. Here’s an aerial overview of the entire property. As you can say, this site is pretty HUGE. Disney has not yet revealed how many rooms the hotel might have, but it looks like it will be a lot.

Here’s a closer view of the hotel’s main building. It’s actually starting to look a lot like the concept art Disney has released of the hotel.

The hotel will also feature some villas that are located on the edge of the forest surrounding the hotel. These little individual villas have an A-frame structure. These structures’ exteriors look close to completion.

We’ve also seen a lot of progress on the hotel’s porte-cochere (aka the entrance). Again, we’re seeing a lot of elements we originally saw in the hotel’s concept art.

The hotel will also have a boat dock, which we assume will have boats that go to and from Magic Kingdom. It looks like the main structure of the dock is also close to completion.

A lazy river feature will also wind its way through the hotel property. We now have a photo of that, as well as the pool that’s going in beside it.

There’s still a lot of work to be done, and Lakeshore Lodge isn’t expected to open until 2027, but we’ll keep an eye on construction progress and keep you updated, so stay tuned to DFB for more.

That is huge! To me it looks like there needs to be a little more parking for both guests and cast members. Or will they bus the cast members to work from another parking lot?
