If you’re keeping up with Disney World construction, you might already know that DinoLand is extinct, so Mirabel Madrigal and Indiana Jones can move in.

DINOSAUR is gone, y’all
Disney has wasted no time in beginning the demolition of DinoLand, and new photos show how quickly the company is moving! If you’re sensative to Disney World construction, now is your time to look away.
Disney World really said, “Let’s go get that Dino!” but not in a fun way. They meant it in a demolition way! DinoLand in Animal Kingdom has been formally closed for roughly 2 weeks now and they wasted not one second of time. If you were a fan of that iconic Iguanodon, you should brace yourself. The dinosar, fountain, and much of the ground concrete has been removed from Dinoland.

Thanks to bioreconstruct on X, we got a bird’s eye view of the construction that is making way for Pueblo Esperanaza, the Tropical America inspired land. We spotted several construction vehicles along with the missing land elements. Near the ride formerly known as DINOSAUR, bioreconstruct also shared photos of so much DIRT!

In front of the Restaurantosaurus building, Disney has completely ripped up the ground and even layed out orange safety fencing which could potentially be part of the layout for the new land. Is that circle the fountain from the concept art? We think it could be! It could also be the location of the carousel that will feature hand carved animals from our favorite Disney films. You can make the decision by comparing it to the concept art below.

In addition to the photos, bioreconstruct also shared a flyover video where we can really see the progress of the Encanto ride building. This building has been going up pretty quickly and will be home to a ride, which looks to be a boat ride. It will begin just as Antonio has received his special gift and his room becomes a beautiful rainforest. You go explore with him, and according to Disney, “You never know what member of the family you might bump into…”

While it’s true we have shed some tears over the loss of DinoLand U.S.A., we are pretty excited about Pueblo Esperanza! In addition to the Encanto ride and the carousel, this land will also feature a brand-new Indiana Jones attraction with an original storyline, making it different from Disneyland’s version of the ride.

The new Tropical Americas land coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets guests explore a preserved Maya temple – and the ensuing adventure – alongside Indiana Jones.
The land will also be home to a large quick service, one of the biggest in Disney World, as well as new shopping and a play area. We can’t wait to see it all come to life when the land opens some time in 2027. As always, be sure to keep following DisneyFoodBlog for more Disney news, updates, and more.
