If you were planning on heading to a Disney World water park, you need to know about this important update! Starting today, February 15th, Blizzard Beach has officially reopened. However, Typhoon Lagoon is now temporarily unavailable. You can still soak up some sun and enjoy a day in the water, but you will need to head to Blizzard Beach instead of Typhoon Lagoon.
However, if you are a Typhoon Lagoon lover, you need to mark your calendar for May 12th, 2026. Typhoon Lagoon may currently be closed for refurbishment, but it will reopen on May 12th and remain open for the summer. The best part? BOTH Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open for the summer.
Blizzard Beach is one of the two water parks at Disney World, and it combines the fun of a water park with the setting of an Alpine-style ski resort. Enjoy the Florida sunshine and clear water against a backdrop of snowy mountains. Inside Blizzard Beach, you will find waterslides, a chairlift, a lazy river, a training camp for kids, and so much more. We always love spending a day enjoying Blizzard Beach.
You can enjoy Blizzard Beach now, and starting May 12th, you can also enjoy Typhoon Lagoon. Both water parks will remain open for the summer. This is great news if you are staying at a Disney World hotel this summer, as the free water park perk will be returning. With this perk, each member of your party will receive admission to one of Disney World’s water parks on their check-in day. Keep in mind, though, this perk will only be offered during the summer season. The water park perk is available from May 26th through September 8th, 2026.
