It’s never fun when you visit Disneyland only to discover that your favorite ride is closed. That’s why we try to do our best to keep you updated on any ride closures we come across (and usually, Disney DOES give a little notice).
It’s definitely not fun when you’re a huge Star Wars fan, and you make your way to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to discover Rise of the Resistance is closed, as it has been since January 20th. However, we’ve got some good news: Rise of the Resistance will reopen soon…as in TOMORROW.
Rise of the Resistance closed for refurbishment in January, but the Disney World website is now showing hours for the ride as of tomorrow. So if you’ve been worried about missing out on this super popular ride, you’ll be able to ride it again VERY soon.
This ride is notorious for temporary closures throughout the day, so regular maintenance and refurbishment are necessary to keep it running as smoothly as possible. It does use some of Disney’s most advanced technology, which means that the ride needs a lot of love to keep it running so that everyone can ride it.
If you do want to ride Rise of the Resistance, though, we recommend you consider rope dropping it, or better yet, get a Lightning Lane Single Pass to skip what is often a long standby line for the shorter Lightning Lane. However, if you’re visiting Disneyland during one of its After Dark events, the ride is often a walk-on, so take advantage of that when you can.
We’ll keep an eye out for more ride closures and openings in Disneyland, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
