This week, Disney brought us even more news and changes regarding the company and the theme parks. In fact, one of those changes could impact the Walt Disney Company as we know it! We’re doing a full round-up of the biggest Disney news right here.
Each week brings new closures, changes, announcements, and more from the Walt Disney Company. That’s why we like to do a full roundup of the biggest changes so you don’t miss a single detail.
A New CEO Has Been Announced
Easily the biggest news of the week was the announcement of Disney’s new Chief Executive Officer! The company announced that Josh D’Amaro will be taking on the position that’s currently held by CEO Bob Iger. D’Amaro currently serves as the company’s Chairperson of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and has been with the company since 1998 in various roles.

Along with D’Amaro’s major role, Disney announced that Dana Walden will become President and Chief Creative Officer of The Walt Disney Company. The CCO position is the first of its kind within the company, and she will report directly to D’Amaro. Bob Iger will actually be stepping down from the CEO role earlier than previously announced.

Both D’Amaro and Walden will begin their new roles on March 18th, 2026.

Frozen Ever After Is Reopening SOON
While this next news might not impact the entire company, it will certainly impact your next Disney World vacation! Frozen Ever After in EPCOT is reopening on February 12th, 2026. The popular attraction has experienced a short closure that’s bringing some big changes.

Frozen Ever After
The ride, which closed on January 26th, 2026, is getting a major update by adding brand-new animatronics! Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf are currently getting a makeover, which is the first they’ve seen since the ride opened in 2016. Currently, the animatronics use facial projection technology, but once the ride reopens, they will more closely match the animatronics that debuted in Hong Kong Disney’s version of the attraction.

We can’t wait to see the new updates once the ride finally reopens this week.

A Popular Disney Restaurant Has Reopened
Finally, a popular signature restaurant has finally reopened over in Disneyland! That’s right, Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand California Resort has reopened its doors after closing in April 2025 for a lengthy refurbishment. The restaurant features a new menu as well as new decor and atmosphere.

Napa Rose
The premium dining experience officially reopened on February 6th, 2026, and it’s safe to say we were blown away. The main dining room debuted a seasonal prix fixe menu and a renovated main dining room. This is one of the best ways to splurge in Disneyland, so we were very excited to check out the new options.

We were lucky enough to check out the new options, as well as the wine pairings, before the restaurant reopened. You can check out our full review here.
