We’ve tried out SO many different kinds of shoes in Disney World, but we’ll tell you right now — not all shoes are built the same.
One pair of shoes isn’t going be perfect across the board for everyone, since everyone’s feet are built differently, but we’ll tell you one thing — choosing the right pair of shoes for your trip is EXTREMELY important. If you don’t know where to start, or don’t know what options to look at, these are five of our favorite options that work no matter what your budget is!
Our Top Favorite!
You’ve likely heard us talk about HOKA shoes a lot, and that’s because they truly are top of the line. While there are a lot of styles out there, one of our absolute favorites is the Hoka Women’s Clifton 10s. These are so bouncy, and they really support the arches of our feet. We’ve previously had an issue where the backs of HOKA sneakers hurt our heels, but that wasn’t the case with these. It was also clear after breaking them in that they’re meant for long-term use, as they weren’t scuffed, the interior wasn’t squished or sunken in, and it was clear to tell the quality was high.
Great Quality, Slightly More Affordable
If you know HOKAs aren’t for you, for one reason or another, the Brooks Women’s Ghost 17 Neutral Running Shoes are another option to look into. These are pricey, yes, but they really deliver on the promise of being comfortable and form-fitting for your feet. We also really love that, if you order these directly from the manufacturer and don’t like them, you can return them within 90 days for free. Now, these did feel a little heavy when we first started walking around, but our feet conformed to the shoe, and it was easier to wear. We think they’re still a great option for those who plan to walk miles and miles around the parks.
Don’t Sleep on New Balances!
We’ve also got multiple members of our team who really adore New Balances, and for good reason! These are supportive, comfortable, and haven’t given us any blisters or discomfort. However, just like with any new shoes, it’s extremely important to break these in before your trip. Sometimes, you can suffer from food discomfort if you break them in by walking 10 miles around Disney World, and then you’re out of luck for the rest of your trip.
The Most Affordable and SUPER Comfortable
We were SHOCKED to find that the Avia Women’s Athletic Jumbo Lite Runner Sneakers from Walmart are comparable in comfort and durability to the HOKAs, but are only $29 in comparison to $100+! These have a great slim fit to them but are cushioned really well, and just like others, they’ll really conform to your feet after breaking them in, so be sure to go on some long walks before your trip begins to make sure they won’t give you blisters.
If You’re A Sandals Person
We know there are people out there who aren’t a fan of sneakers, and we understand that! If you want a pair of slides, we recommend the OOFOS OOriginal Recovery Sandals. They’ll dry off easily if you get them wet from rain or a water ride, they stay secure on your feet, and they are super comfortable to wear. We speak from experience!
We’ll continue to keep you updated on all the latest and greatest items for your Disney World trip, so stay tuned to DFB!
