We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: the shoes you wear to Disney World are SO important.
Chances are, you’ll be doing a LOT of walking on your Disney World trip — we’re talking around 20,000 steps per day. That means you need some seriously comfortable shoes. We’ve tested a TON of different shoes in the parks, and while these may be a little expensive, they’ll be totally worth it in the long run — just make sure you break them in first!
The shoes you wear to Disney World can make or break your trip! Check out some of our favorites below — and if you plan on buying them, make sure you do it in advance so you can break them in!
Get the Hoka Clifton 10s
If you’re looking for the MOST comfortable shoes we’ve tried out in the parks, look no further than the Hoka Clifton 10s. They’re pricey, but we’d pay a pretty penny to not have aching feet at the end of a long park day, and these absolutely deliver on that. These are built for long-term wear, and even after repeated use, they’re still springy in the heels.
They cradle your feet without being snug, and they aren’t too heavy despite being on the clunky side. The thicker heel helps make it feel like you’re bouncing around the parks thanks to the added cushioning. If you’re not a huge fan of sneakers, we bet you’ll change your mind after trying these out!
We also love the Hoka Rincon 4s
We love the Rincon 4s because they’re both comfortable and breathable. They’re not quite as bulky as the Cliftons, which is better if you’re going for a sleek look. You can feel the cushion form around your feet as you step, which offers a lot of “give” and feels like you’re walking on a cloud.
Our only complaint with these is that they rubbed the top of our reporter’s feet the wrong way when they were being broken in, but after they got used to the shoes, that problem mostly went away. We definitely recommend breaking these in on walks around your neighborhood before you head to Disney World wearing these!
Or, you can grab the Brooks Ghost 17 shoes
The Brooks Ghost 17s feature a balanced feel — they’re not too clunky, and the soft and dynamic cushioning offers a smooth feeling with each step. They’re a little heavy at first, but nothing that will weigh you down too badly. We’ve found that the front of the shoe features a comfortable grip that hugs, but doesn’t squeeze too tightly.
After you wear them for a bit, you can start to feel the insole form around your foot and give you that extra cushion and bounce — especially in the heel, where you’ll likely need it the most. They’re also incredibly breathable thanks to the air mesh around the upper part of the shoe. The cushioning really makes you feel like you’re bouncing around the parks and lessens the impact on the rest of your body.
