Magic Kingdom’s massive expansion is finally coming to life! Villains Land and Piston Peak were first announced in 2024 at the D23 Expo, and we’ve been patiently awaiting updates ever since.

Construction is underway for both lands, which means the park has lots of construction walls right now. Now, a new document reveals more of what we can expect from Maleficent and Lightning McQueen!
New documents filed with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) have potentially revealed where the buildings will be in Cars Land and Villains Land! Wastewater documents for a project titled Project SNK show where different utility buildings and show buildings might land in the new areas.

The document also shows where the buildings will sit over the current layout of Magic Kingdom. Cars Land is replacing Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, and it will rest near the Haunted Mansion. Villains Land will expand past Big Thunder Mountain, all of which Disney had previously confirmed. The documents clarify what we can expect from the walking layout of each land.

Existing and Potential New Parade Path
You can see several spots labeled “FACILITY” that are connected by utility lines on the documents. The plans also detail that utility lines will be connected to the existing Magic Kingdom buildings and utilities. The largest building looks to be in the Villains Land area and it’s roughly 70,000 square feet.

To put it into perspective, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios is roughly 71,000 square feet. Concept art has implied that this land will have a large attraction, like an indoor attraction or potential coaster. The main concept art Disney has revealed does show what looks to be a roller coaster track, which you can see here.

The second building in the Villains Land looks to be roughly 48,000 square feet. This makes us wonder if there will be a second, smaller attraction. Disney has remained fairly quiet about the details in the land, so this could be a HUGE clue as to what to expect. There are roughly 4 buildings in the Villains Land area of the document.

As for Piston Peak (the official name for Cars Land), there are a few more buildings to check out. There are 3 main buildings in the documents that we can see, which align with what Disney has shared previously. Disney has already confirmed that we can expect a Rally Race-themed Attraction. This ride will have you racing through the mountains on wild terrain along mountain trails as you dodge geysers and splash through mud holes. They’ve even shared that the queue for this ride will be housed in the visitor lodge area of Piston Peak National Park, which will be constructed to look like an A-frame mountain lodge.

They’ve also confirmed there will be a second attraction for “smaller racers,” but they haven’t given us any details on the land’s section attraction other than that.

We are really eager to see if this layout on the documents will be what the lands look like when they finally open. At the time of writing, Disney has yet to share opening timelines for either of the new lands. From the photos there seems to be some kind of boat remaining in the water! Looks like the Piston Springs area will blend well with Frontier Land.
Odd naming conventions. Villains land is a “expansion” similar to how Tron expanded MK beyond the railroad. Cars is not an “expansion”…it’s a replacement of TSI. Autopia track was shortened so one could say Tron was both but at least it didn’t remove the gas guzzling go-carts. (Which. iMO would have made more sense to replace/retheme Autopia to Cars instead, maybe with electric Cars and left TSI alone. They could have rethemed the river boat ride which would have been better than replacing it.
