REVIEW: This Is Our Petition for All Donut Holes to Be Served on Skewers

Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew just debuted some NEW items, and we made a stop by to try them out! You can find Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew on the West Side of Disney Springs.

Donut Hole Skewers

As you can probably guess by the name, they specialize in donuts and cold brew — although you can also find some yummy chicken tenders here (who would have guessed chicken tenders at a donut place, but they are delicious!). This time we are after some new donuts, though. We are grabbing a new flavor of doughnut and some donut hole skewers. It’s time for some sweetness!

First up, we are starting off with Everglazed’s fluffy donuts in a new form: Donut Hole Skewers. You can grab a skewer for $5, and they come in three flavors: Cookies & Cream. Strawberry Sprinkles, and Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chips. Of course, we couldn’t just grab one flavor, so we tried all three!

Each skewer comes with five donut holes, and the base donut hole is the same for all three skewers. It is just the toppings that change depending on your flavor choice.

Let’s start things off with the Cookies & Cream Donut Hole Skewer. This was probably our least favorite of the three; it was a regular donut hole drizzled with white icing, then sprinkled with Oreo cookie crumbles. While you do taste the cookies & cream flavor, it is not super strong. There wasn’t a whole lot of cookie crumbles, although the ones it did have added a great crunch to the donut holes. We were hoping for a bit more cookies & cream flavor with this one, but this one had our favorite texture of the three.

Next up, let’s talk about the Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chips Donut Hole Skewer. These donut holes are drizzled with chocolate icing and topped with peanut butter chips. The chocolate icing had a good amount of chocolate flavor, and we enjoyed the peanut butter flavor from the peanut butter chips. This skewer was our runner-up, but a great option if you love chocolate and peanut butter.

Last but not least, the Strawberry Sprinkles Donut Hole Skewer. As you can probably guess, this one was our favorite. We thought this one had the most flavor, and you could really tell it was a strawberry sprinkles donut hole. This one was eye-catching, and strawberry icing and sprinkles are such an iconic donut flavor. While this was our favorite, we thought they were all tasty, and which one you would like most will mostly come down to personal preference.

Donut hole skewers aren’t the only new arrival at Everglazed, though! We also spotted a new Hot Honey Cornbread Donut, and we were intrigued. You can grab this donut for $6.95. The base is a classic yeast donut that is topped with vanilla icing. It is sprinkled with cornbread crumbs and topped with a dollop of honey frosting and hot honey drizzle. While this donut is supposed to be hot honey, we didn’t get any heat from it.

This donut is definitely SWEET. Of course, the icing and the donut are sweet, plus you get a lot of sweetness from the honey frosting and the drizzle on top. Plus, the cornbread crumbles also add more sweetness. The donut was light and fluffy, but be prepared for lots of sweetness. The cornbread crumbles added a nice cornbread flavor, but overall, we wish it were a bit more prominent.

We also wish we had gotten a bit more heat from the hot honey. We could definitely taste the honey flavor, but we didn’t get any heat. We enjoyed this donut, but we wish there was a different flavor in the glaze (instead of just vanilla) or a filling to make it a bit more unique.
