It’s been another big week for Disney news, and we are here to make sure you are always up-to-date on the latest Disney happenings! We are in the parks every single day, and we are always on the lookout for Disney news. We have been busy this week trying new treats at Disneyland, reviewing three new savory waffles at Disney Springs, trying out new treats in Magic Kingdom, feasting on a GIANT crepe in EPCOT, and more.
That is not all that happened this week in the world of Disney, though! We are rounding up three of the biggest announcements and happenings this week, so let’s dive in!
Updates Coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland
Starting April 29th, Disney is expanding the timeline for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland to include more Star Wars eras, unlocking it in the biggest way yet. There will be new characters, updated stores and merchandise, and even updated music! They’re rolling back the timeline several decades to include characters and storylines from The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, The Mandalorian, and Ahsoka. With the updates, guests will experience the Galactic Civil War and the New Republic, as well as the Age of the Resistance and the First Order.
Character Updates
New characters will be coming to Galaxy’s Edge. Darth Vader’s search for Luke Skywalker will bring him to Batuu, joined by Imperial Stormtroopers. Leia Organa and Han Solo will also be reunited with Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca in Batuu.

Beginning April 29, 2026, visitors to Batuu may find Darth Vader, Imperial Stormtroopers, and other iconic Star Wars characters inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., as the land expands its timeline to include more Star Wars eras. Ahsoka Tano, plus The Mandalorian and Grogu, will be near the marketplace. R2-D2 will continue to roll through the land near Droid Depot and the garage, and Rey will be found around the Resistance Camp. In addition, the Disney Visa meet-and-greet that was formerly home to Darth Vader will now be home to Kylo Ren!
Store Updates
First Order Cargo will become Black Spire Surplus, a military salvage operation with artifacts from across the history of the galaxy, including Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War. Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will display a different array of one-of-a-kind items from its past, changing with the times.
An earlier generation of the Mubo family will now be operating Droid Depot, where you’ll find prototypes of BB-style droids. You might even catch Luke Skywalker meeting with Savi in his search for information on lightsabers and the Force at Savi’s Workshop.
Music Updates
Battuu will also sound a bit different. Beloved scores from the iconic composer John Williams will make their way to Galaxy’s Edge. The “Main Title” and “Force Theme” will beckon you to a galaxy far, far away. As you wander through the land, you’ll hear motifs from other classic tracks, including “Han Solo and the Princess,” “The Desert and the Robot Auction,” “The Emperor,” and more.
And of course, the lively tune “Cantina Band” will be heard from within Oga’s Cantina. In the era of the Galactic Civil War, proprietor Oga Garra only recently opened this watering hole, which is already becoming a popular spot for intergalactic travelers. As of now, these changes are only slated for Disneyland’s version of Galaxy’s Edge, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for any updates at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well.

EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Has Started
EPCOT’s first festival of the year officially started on January 16th! The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts runs through February 23rd. Of course, we stopped by on opening day to experience everything the festival has to offer. It may be short, but this festival is always such a good time. It celebrates three artistic disciplines: the Culinary, Visual, and Performing Arts. Throughout the festival, you can experience so many opportunities to experience the arts, from carefully crafted dishes at the Food Studios to Broadway performers in the Disney on Broadway Concert Series.
We ate and drank our way through every Food Studio and also experienced the special festival activities. We have reviews for every single booth on our blog, plus a round-up of the best of the fest. You can also check out our coverage of the festival activities and tune into our YouTube channel for a video covering everything you need to know about the festival.

Gideon’s Bakehouse Owner Opening NEW Restaurant
We also got some very exciting news out of Disney Springs! The owner of Gideon’s Bakehouse, Steve Lewis, will open a new concept, Six Ravens, in Disney Springs. The eatery will be a “fast casual celebration of savory.” It is expected to open mid-year in The Landing, just a few doors down from Gideon’s Bakehouse. The menu will feature brand-new options, including hand-pie sandwiches called coffyns and housemade yeast rolls with fillings that support local.
We had spotted new art where Six Ravens will be located (which was formerly home to Art of Shaving), and now we know what will be moving into the space! Six Ravens will be offering savory delights in collaboration with Central Florida chefs, and we can’t wait.
We are excited to try the savory options from Steve Lewis, and you already know we will be among the first in line when this new restaurant opens!
