The Disney Skyliner is a staple of Disney World. Eager resort guests and park hoppers alike run to these iconic gondolas for Hollywood Studios or EPCOT. But like everything at Disney, yearly refurbishments are a non-negotiable!
The Disney Skyliner will be closed from January 25th to January 31st, 2026. Disney will provide alternate transportation for guests, notably complimentary buses, but there are even more transportation methods you can take. Here’s everything you need to know, and how to get around in the meantime!
Hotels along the Disney Skyliner will not be able to use the gondolas while they’re closed. The following resorts are impacted:
These resorts will all have complimentary bus transportation offered for guests going to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios instead. They’ll be at the same bus stop that picks you up for Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. We typically recommend leaving for a Disney bus about an hour before you want to be at the park — they typically run every 30 minutes, but can sometimes be delayed for traffic or hit capacity during more crowded times like rope drop.
If you’re looking to park-hop from EPCOT to Hollywood Studios, or vice-versa, there are still 3 transportation options available. The most popular are the Disney buses with pickup at the front of each park. If you’re in the World Showcase and don’t want to walk that far, our Disney transportation hack has you covered.
One of the easiest ways to park-hop is by taking the Friendship Boat. The docks are located in the International Gateway of EPCOT and the main entrance of Hollywood Studios. They run about every 20 minutes and connect the two parks with Swan & Dolphin, Yacht & Beach Club, and the BoardWalk resorts. Take a relaxing ride around scenic Crescent Lake to park-hop in style!
And if you want to get your steps in, Disney has a walking path that connects Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. This typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your speed, but it is a popular spot for runners staying on Disney property to get moving. The path takes you through the BoardWalk resort, where you can grab a soda or a meal at their quick-service options along the gorgeous Crescent Lake. If it’s not hot out, it’s a great way to explore Disney on foot. We wouldn’t recommend this option to families with children, though – pushing a stroller that long is not ideal, and it can be a lengthy trip for kids who are already tired from a park morning.
To take the walking path from Hollywood Studios, head to the bus stop station and turn at the bathrooms next to the Skyliner station, then follow the path along the water. To take the walking path from EPCOT, head down the International Gateway exit towards resorts, then cross the bridge and head towards the BoardWalk.
Reminder, the Disney Skyliner will be down from January 25th to January 31st, 2026. But in the meantime, you can get around with Disney buses, boats, or walking paths. Happy traveling!
